A lot of people saying it, and even the union rep told me. They want these RTSs gone, but I agree with you. I don't think these will be gone by then...

Imo, that's stupid. The Xd40s still have their issues and the general concensus is people don't like the nova lfs because of the perceived lack of room. So unless they have a reliable 3rd party ready to start a mass fleet to replace all the RTSs, I don't see it happening (all the RTSs leaving).

And as it is, there are way too many pre-2000 diesel rigids that need to be replaced. The 690-bus order would likely be only enough to replace the remaining O5s, the remaining 1996 Novas, and some of the 1997-98 Novas.

No the older c40's are to be gone/stored as soon as the 600's come to gleason. 658-672 or 659-672 gleason will be getting, that's just like the 2 Orion V CNG's that were at Gleason 9829/70. They were good buses but they were supposed to be gone a long time ago but they were in good shape. 800 was back for 2 weeks because it was a parts/spare bus, it went in service 1 time and that was it I saw it on the B9 I believe.

True, some may go through the door one by one but I don't think all of them will leave/be gone by 14'. It's gonna be a sad day when they are gone, that's all I grew up on were the RTSs (GMC's), im sure that's the same with everyone else.

No it's not, they stopped over hauling them because they're gonna be gone by 2015. It might have it's tranny changed or some minor work done to it. It's been in & out of service though.

 

 

Where the hell did you hear that? I'm not aware of the overhauls stopping, nor am I aware of any plans for the 1999 RTSes being anywhere near gone two years from now.

I think so, like 2015-2017 or something like that.

 

 

#4900-5249 are to last until at least 2017 as they are "scheduled" for an overhaul. When that 690 bus order goes into effect, MOST (if not all) will remain in service. However, since we are talking about the MTA we ALL should know better that this is subject to change.

Been sitting like this for nearly a year with the HOLD O/S W/C RELINE, now it's just a parts/scrap bus. the engine covers are off now and they took out some lights.

Well, 9551 is 15 years old. The MTA should have really looked long and hard about buying about 100 retired NJ Transit Nova RTSs for MTA Bus.

evertally wf will lose some when mch reopens, and i would think a route will move from cp -lg when the QM 24/25 get transfered to cp from lg.

 

It makes no sense to specaulate what going to happen with routes when MCH re-opens because it means abxolutely nothing......................you guys are forgetting something very important: 126 will close for demolition and that operation moves to the MCH site for as long as it takes.

i think the m15 local/sbs wil go to 100 street with m60 to mch (where  it was origirinally ) m 31 to quill, 101,102,103 mv/mch split. also 104 to mv. is mch going to be  able to operarte artics?

6158 is at the CS depot. It was seen (not by me) on the Q-48 on Friday afternoon. It has CS stickers on it.
