A 1000 bus is running? I thought they were all gone?

They can maintain the artics at FR? Or is it just for FR to use and JFK does the work on the buses (if needed)? It seems like everything's mixed up with JFK buses on FR routes. Lol, what's the point of the sticker?

The 1996 1000 series was scrapped, but 1004 is still alive as a training bus, and 5355 was renumbered as 1001 (the bus at FR). You got your original 10xx-11xx D60s, the 5250-5759 batch, the 1300s renumbers, the 4700s renumbers, and the 1000s renumbers. Some mess.

What they should have done was renumber ALL the artics to the 1100s (1110-1199) since there are NO buses using those numbers.

Q53 is an LGA line, so artics can't run on that line.

Damn, that is confusing. And all this while the 9700s haven't been touched since all the ex-QSC RTSs were retired. What's the MTA saving that number set for? The person that made the change preventing the 6000s o5s from being renumbered to the 9700s should be demoted for causing this mess. At least if they had the lfsa up to just 6099 and then gone back to the 5200s, they wouldn't have to renumber so many artics. The renumbering of the 600 O5s makes sense as to keep all the c40lfs together, so that's the one change i'm fine with. But really the MTA should just number the bus fleet by their makers instead of keeping everything under the 100-'9999' number set.

I thought JFK was using the Artics on the Q10 I didn't know they were still giving them all to the Q52. They should really be on the Q53

Soon they will. Stops along the Q6 and Q10 are being modified to handle artics. They moved the Q40 stop a block back to where the Q44 stops and they moved the Q8/9/40/41/60 stop from the Duane Reade at Archer Avenue to the McDonalds, leaving the Q6 at Duane Reade.

You also have 1290-2041 open. I'm okay with not renumbering the 6000s...but renumbering the 5250-5509 batch all over the place makes no sense.

Artics can run on the Q53, a couple of weeks ago a friend of mines gave me a call and told me they had a artic in depot doing a dry run which performed well, later down the line LG might see artics on the Q53.

Why do the Artics keep going back to storage? And what is taking so long for the ones that were in storage to arrive at JFK and BP.

The buses I just named never made the trip down to JFK. Like what was said elsewhere, they are modifying the stops along the Q6 and Q10 while training drivers with 5493 and 5475 sees service on the Q52. I don't think BP will be seeing anything until the reconstruction of the main lot is done.

Interesting here, some of the remaining in service Orion V CNGs at CP are ACTUALLY assigned to LGA, as in on LGA's roster.

9836, 9871, 9889, 9891, 9902

also at CP it seems only 9849, 9860, 9880, 9899, and 9919 are left active...

I saw that as well, threw me real well. But weirdly they're now registered at CP again, so that was short-lived...

Only 5 old C40's left in service in Brooklyn according to this post made by Ciboii: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/26457-bus-random-thoughts-thread/?p=671536

Makes only 30 old CNG buses left in service in NYC.

The operative number would be 6 as there are 6 of them out in service right now.

818, 847, 902, 903, 920 and 987 are currently in service.

-EDIT-

672 is in. Expect the rest of the XD60s to follow suit in the coming days/weeks.
