Some of y'all get mad excited over these temporary loaners.

9 out of 10 times, any Quill bus that goes in service at Manhattanville is a loaner. They sometimes send buses to Manhattanville to make up for a shortage, or in the event that they need extra buses.

5518 has been renumbered to 102, and there is also a bus 100 on the roster as well. Are there any plans to renumber the remainder of the fleet, at least those below 5600? If 174 and 180 (the ex-Bee-Line O5s) are renumbered, there are 84 numbers available up to 185.

 

Also of note: bus 13 was photographed (not by me) on the M11---is that a test of endurance?

Manhattanville is short on their total of buses since the 2009 NGs left to Gun Hill

 

Also 5512 KB = #100

It was on one of MJQ's school trippers. Likely not.

If they are short why can't they get more buses so they can complete the number of buses they are short on

It's not that simple.

They've been sending out hybrids to get worked on. So the number of buses they would need is either minimal or big. And it's clear that they don't even need that many buses to cover their shortage.

I wonder if they will be, considering that the next order of LFSA buses is supposed to be 5531-5602. The current 5531-5602 range of D60HF makes about 72 buses, although some are retired (21 of them, so about 51 remain), so the actual number is less. There are four ####<5530 buses (5512, 5518, 5519, 5525) that are probably going to be renumbered (5518 is already 102). But if they want to move ahead and renumber 5531-5602 right now, it can easily be done easily.

Then their new numbers would be 100-154, and that still leaves room (about 30 numbers) if they want to return some to service.

5512 is already renumbered to 100.

Has anybody notice the route display( the one you can see in the front of the bus) on the  2016-2017 XD40 looks a like the 2011 XD6O route display ? I’ve seen it on the buses base out if ENY and FP

Makes no sense with these new sign changes. Also Flatbush has it.

At least one bus in each NYCT depot has the update ATM.

Try a few buses from each division. However, this new update making these buses look tacky. To me the best signs are the OG's 6490-6689 series.

How. Wayyaminute????  That doesn't make sense. Is the bus re-numbered or not? That's the question. Obviously 🙄 the bus is already built and enroute to New York City any week now.. Any duplication of #'s from old to new results in bad registration for DMV.
