Anyone pay any attention to these barcodes being put into place in the subway cars? They're all located nearby the car number stickers inside the car (number plates on the 160s).

Yea i've noticed them from time to time. I think they're just a way of identifying the train. They're practically on every subway car now, including SIR.

It's probably part of an electronic system to keep track of cars and maintenance.

Yep noticed them like 3 weeks ago, originally on the at 181. I thought it was a sticker meaning SMS. But i guess i was wrong when i saw it expand.

I stand corrected. Car Maintainer. I sometimes get some of the positions mixed up in my head.
