I decided to start this thread on the LaGuardia Depot because they seem to not be doing well right now. They need buses bad, and many of the ones they have need to be fixed. What are your thoughts on their operations??

Lets see they are constantly short. They cant make AM/PM pull outs. They have to many buses O/S oh and did I mention that they are short? Theres at leat 12+ drivers waiting to take a bus that isnt there. Any one else?

i was on an NG today on the q18 and it was leaking on me. i look up and i see there's a hole a couple of inches away from this really ghetto-looking duct tape job on the ceiling. nice maintenance they've got there lmao.

SMH...... They need to send some of the 100+ non-scrapped RTS' over there ASAP! The high 9200's and 9300 should have been sent there long ago.

But why give them those RTS' because if they can't even keep their newest buses.the VII NGs, in good shape. They need to fix their maintenance issue first before getting better buses.

I have not ridden buses that has the most breakdowns as LGA Depot's. I remember riding the Q53 bus in Queens, every third bus was taken out of service due to problems, which I can't remember exactly.

I don't know why everbody is kissing LGA's Ass, Number 1 they don't Need RTS's at All

 

Number 2 those Bee-Line Buses are very problematic, Both Basiley Park and LGA is having problems with these buses, everyday I see a ex bee line Orion V stuck on the Q110, today I seen one with the Road Ops.

 

Number 3 Bring The RTS out of ECH storage and have the @ Basiley Park and LGA until they get More New buses, Get those f**king Orions Off the Road.

Lmao ! i agree with you & lga doesnt take care of those buses , but if i had a choice to pick between lga and bp id pick lga they have buses about rounded off to 200 , bp doesnt have anything . Ulmer pk is getting alot of buses now and our latest are , 8913-8914 , 8961 , 9034 , 5135-5136 , 8761 , 8888 back at upk , 8890 , 8909 , 8910 , 8927 , 8985 . like were getting buses every damn week .

LGA over BP, You sound like an Ass, LGA has buses that are not even safe to opperate and they are short and The NYCT don't want to give them no more RTS and UP is a dumping ground but they do take care of their RTS. And UP should have new buses, but the TA loves giving them hand me downs, Enjoy your Hand-Me downs while I enjoy my 4 year old Orion VII OG's because they run very good.

when I used them was Triboro Coach and I Rode the Q19(A) for A good Decade ,Now we had at the time 700's 600's 2000's and this Depot seemed to get the job done ,Every morning Bus after bus after bus came .

I even rode those fishbowls back in 88 but to be honest this Depot needs Help and as you can see newer buses aren't always the Answer .

We at College Pt Depot are having that same prob with 20plus ops not pulling out at all and Half of our fleet is OS .

The needs to give the Maintanace Employees that damn overtime so come Monday ,(B)us Ops can make SVC but no cut OT and that is playing A major role .

RTS's from Quill QV, Grand Ave need to be put in LGA ,This maybe A hunch on my part but when ths depot(MTA) had RTS's ...They were better Maintained but hey just A hunch on my part and lets not forget how long this depot had Em.<R>

IMHO, LGA needs RTS' bad! The Orion's get crush loaded a lot, ant the RTS' can handle what LGA throws at them. According to my records the RTS' that they do have, have been holding up quite well.

My friend doing the QM24 3rd Av at 5:30pm departure got broke down because of noise, so at 44th St, so I got free ride to next QM24 which departes 5:45pm 38th St. His bus on Q18 got broke down also.

 

On following week when I met him on Friday, there was one of regular QM24 rider told B/O that another QM24 broke down on LIE after his bus broke down.

Basiley Parks Mantanice is one of the best, Just because BP is a small Depot that don't mean shit, We got f**ked over by getting those Orion V's, They should have went to JFK or Far Rock, They have exprience with Orion V's, BP has alot of RTS parts, half or most of them are from the old jamaica Buses.

Hold on partner, I wouldnt say that, their maintenance went downhill since April. Considering that they had to ship out one of their buses to a New York City Bus depot for a repaint and some repair work, something has been wrong for quite some time.

That still doesnt sum up everything, LGA also never had experience with Orion V Diesels. They had CNGs but they were built differently, the engine compartments of those two types of buses are extremely different in terms of how things are placed, worked on and layed out. They wouldnt send one bus to a contractor, otherwise we'd see hoards of buses coming in with fresh schemes, last I was told, 3505 made a visit to Queens Village depot.

 

Both depots never had experiences with Orion V Diesels thoroughly, Baisley Park & LGA had some 100 series Orion Vs during the takeover and they still maintained their suburban seats, but they were never used to their fullest extent, so they converted their buses to local configurations. Some of those 100s saw life on the QM21 and QM24 routes during the major takeover.

 

Like I said, both depots are to be blamed for their lack of maintenance. Those Bee Lines ran very well on all kinds of streets and stayed up to the fullest, Bee Line maintained those buses and kept them new, once they made their way to our turf, they started dying left and right. Both depots are to be blamed for their lack of maintenance. Baisley Park may have been good with the RTSs, but they still had their worst batch even way back when.

He does have a point though. The 'text speak' is very irritating and a hassle to read to the point I have to just skip his posts. He needs to either wait till he gets home to type on a computer or learn to type more clearly on his 'sidekick'. You all also have to realize that not everyone's English is as good as other's. There are many people of different cultures on this forum. You have to take that into account sometime as well.

That is true. But it can't hurt to at least type something a bit more readable. To me it's more 'text speak'.
