Citaro 0 Posted August 10, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2010 Burj Khalifa is the best but my favorite is the Shard London Bridge. The Shard is a supertall skyscraper under construction in Southwark, London, United Kingdom. When completed in 2012 it will be the tallest building in the European Union. It is replacing Southwark Towers, a 24-story office building which was completed in 1976. The tower will stand at 310 m (1,017 ft) tall and have 72 floors, plus 15 further radiator floors in the roof.
EE Broadway Local 18 Posted August 10, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 10, 2010 My favorite skyscraper - New York's Flatiron Building! Formerly known as the Fuller Building when completed in 1902 at 175 Fifth Avenue, this skyscraper features uniquely shaped "point" offices. To reach the top floor, a second elevator is taken from the 20th floor.

LRG 217 Posted August 11, 2010 Share #6 Posted August 11, 2010 I agree, I only wish they could have re-built them exactly the same way. Agreed. The Freedom Tower design sucks. Wish they'd just scrap it already.

Fresh Pond 5,371 Posted October 25, 2010 Share #11 Posted October 25, 2010 Agreed. The Freedom Tower design sucks. Wish they'd just scrap it already. They should've built it the same way. People recognize the old WTC more. At least when its done (whenever that is now) it'll be the 2nd tallest building on Earth at 1,776 ft tall
Grand Concourse 2,690 Posted October 25, 2010 Share #12 Posted October 25, 2010 The new towers will look much nicer. But I just wished it wasn't capped at that 'symbolic' number. They had a chance to build the tallest [at least in the US], they should've built it taller. Stupid Pataki.
Forest Glen 4 Posted October 25, 2010 Share #13 Posted October 25, 2010 Some of these people are cheating. Towers shouldn't count as buildings. Only FUNCTIONAL buildings should count when deciding which building is the tallest.
Grand Concourse 2,690 Posted October 25, 2010 Share #14 Posted October 25, 2010 There's technically different criteria and categories. So towers would count as 'structures'.

R32 3348 11 Posted October 31, 2010 Share #17 Posted October 31, 2010 It's a shame the old twin towers had to meet their demise, but this is more than an acceptable replacement.
Grand Concourse 2,690 Posted October 31, 2010 Share #18 Posted October 31, 2010 If anything of towers 2-4, #2 should've been given more priority as it looks the best of the three.
