East New York Posted August 13, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 13, 2010 have to pay rite ? our passes dont work on the SIR I was told. Also is there a site where they show job postings for the SIR Most, if not all job listings are posted on the MTA website. Why don't your passes work on SIR?? Zman Posted August 13, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 13, 2010 That is correct, TA passes are not valid on SIRTOA, but you can use them on the buses. It's definitely a head scratcher.

Santa Fe via Willow Posted October 19, 2010 Share #6 Posted October 19, 2010 its soo dumb ! BINGO! I wouldnt mind taking the train sometimes if we didnt have to pay ! You SHOULDN'T have to pay. Do SIR employees have to pay when they ride (NYCT) buses? Both should ride each other for free.
BroadwayBuffer Posted October 19, 2010 Share #7 Posted October 19, 2010 BINGO! You SHOULDN'T have to pay. Do SIR employees have to pay when they ride (NYCT) buses? Both should ride each other for free. In theory, they do pay. A SIRT pass would be rejected on an NYCT farebox. Each sub-agency within the MTA has their own deals worked out. TA/OA passes are valid on all NYCT buses and the subway. SIRT employees have a pass for the SIRT, MTA Bus have a pass for their buses (which don't work on TA buses). LIRR and MN have a pass for their respective systems too. I'm not sure how it worked for employees at the Ballpark SIRT station since I believe the fare was collected there using a bus farebox. Joel Up Front Posted October 19, 2010 Share #8 Posted October 19, 2010 And what about LI employees? Do their passes only work on LI fareboxes? And what about city/LIB employees using the LIRR?
BroadwayBuffer Posted October 20, 2010 Share #9 Posted October 20, 2010 And what about LI employees? Do their passes only work on LI fareboxes? And what about city/LIB employees using the LIRR? TA and LIB employees pay for the LIRR. And likewise, LIRR employees pay on LI Buses. The pass is accepted on the agency you work for.
