R32 3348 Posted August 18, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 18, 2010 They're doing another track chip-out somewhere along the line (I think around Grand Ave). Trains run slowly on the express track, creating more congestion. Some and trains run local if there's too much congestion up ahead. This is going to be fun. LRG Posted August 18, 2010 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2010 Some trains operate local in Queens heading towards Manhattan. In addition, all (E)s to 179th have been canceled, meaning that the is running on a supplement schedule. I think the is running on a supplement as well. Eric B Posted August 19, 2010 Share #6 Posted August 19, 2010 This would have been the perfect chance to test starting a few (E)'s at Continental (replacing 179th) and running local to Roosevelt to switch to the express; in order toease some of the transferring. The local already has 6th Ave. (the ), so I wonder why they chose the anyway.
iGeMiNix Posted August 19, 2010 Share #7 Posted August 19, 2010 Well the runs local north of 71th Ave so it just doesn't switch over south of 75th Ave instead of having the switch if it is going to run local.
