Rules Of Conduct - Photography

EE Broadway Local

While we are familiar, I believe, with 21 NYCRR 1050, we should be aware that 21 NYCRR 1050.9c pertains to the TA and MaBASTOA while 21 NYCRR 1040.4f pertains to SIR. The wording is the same for both.

However, there are exceptions, and we should also be familiar with 21 NYCRR 1050.6 ("Use Of The Transit System"). Of particular interest is 21 NYCRR 1050.6b and 21 NYCRR 1050.6c.

21 NYCRR 1050.9g is another good area to be familiar with.

For future reference, here is a link to 21 NYCRR 1050: http://www.mta.info/nyct/rules/rules.htm

It's okay to be a transit fan and enjoy photography as a hobby, but the best rule of thumb is to use common sense.

If you ever find yourself in a situation concerning your camera, civility is best in talking to a transit employee or police officer.

If you're not sure - it doesn't hurt to ask. Ask an employee, T/O, C/R, B/O or a police officer.
