Gunman holds up train ticket office at Melbourne Central

POLICE are combing the CBD for a gunman who held up a ticket office at Melbourne Central railway station.

 

A Police spokeswomen said the man allegedly pulled a hand gun on a lone ticket office staff member just before 10pm, before getting away with an amount of cash.

 

She said no one was injured, but trains were cancelled for several minutes.

 

Security staff closed off the station's entrances as police and transit police searched for the gunman.

 

Sen-Sgt Simon Stevens, the officer managing the incident, described the armed robbery as "brazen''.

 

The man was described as Caucasian, in his mid 20s with long blonde hair. He was wearing a grey and green windcheater.

 

He was last seen heading east along Little Lonsdale St.

This guy has some guts. Considering Melbourne Central is part of Melbourne Central Shopping Centre.
