LRG 217 Posted September 1, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2010 Are you serious??? $7.50 for the BxM4C? They may as well just do away with the route or give it to the MTA.

Might at well become an Express Bus Route X44W and run from 28th Street to the Wakefield MNRR station so people can continue there trip.
B35 via Church 10,338 Posted September 1, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2010 our express buses aren't worth the 5.50 they are now (compared to express routes outside of the boroughs, not including the bxm4c).... lol.... anyway... yeah, that shit's good as gone.... ah well... isn't it cheaper than that (7.50) to get from white plains to manhattan on the metro north .... Shortline Bus 1,121 Posted September 2, 2010 Share #10 Posted September 2, 2010 our express buses aren't worth the 5.50 they are now (compared to express routes outside of the boroughs, not including the bxm4c).... lol.... anyway... yeah, that shit's good as gone.... ah well... isn't it cheaper than that (7.50) to get from white plains to manhattan on the metro north .... Good point Bro. Even taking the MNRR Harlem Line "Local" from White Plains-Grand Central is quicker at about 1 hour than the 4c. The Express is about 30-40 minutes travel time to/from Manhattan. On the 4c riders who are eldery/seniors there lucky. Unlike say the B51 and B39 going to/from Manhattan in which subway access for the Disabled was either limited or in case with the B39 at Essex station (NON ADA ACCESSIBLE AT ALL:mad:)the riders in White Plains does have an ADA Access station. I think the Beeline has it right in running it weekdays only to/from Tarrytown Rd/Central Ave and 23rd/5th Ave. However the BXM4 should be extended full time 7 days a week to/from Cross County for riders going to Yonkers Raceway and parts of Central Ave. in Yonkers a long walk from a MNRR station. Before weekend service was canned in recent years, the majority of '4c" riders got off or boarded for Midtown at stops between Tuchahoe Rd. and McClean on the NYC/Yonkers city line. Most of those were going to Yonkers Raceway/Empire City. Riders north of Cross County could use the BL-20. Just my takes.
Amtrak7 427 Posted September 2, 2010 Share #11 Posted September 2, 2010 isn't it cheaper than that (7.50) to get from white plains to manhattan on the metro north .... MNR fares are $7.25 offpeak, $9.75 peak White Plains - GCT. Since there are only a couple of BxM4C trips that meet the MNR offpeak timeframes, that really doesn't apply. If one boarded at White Plains and wanted to get off in the Bronx, the fare would be only $3.
