Strain Posted April 9, 2011 Author Share #426 Posted April 9, 2011 Thanks for the observation--that's a drawback of working on these things really late at night--you miss the obvious things. I went back and changed everything. So, a  to KTrain, and a  to Jamal (trainluv) for helping me re-configure my stations. Here is the new 6-track w/ bypass tracks (DeKalb Av), with the split walls, and narrower beams! Thanks again guys, and enjoy! -A  Hey can we like get together on some stations cuz i really like your work? Also if you want this to be a spinal then i would also put a wall and more DNE signs on the other end of that plat so one end has and the other doesn't if you know what im saying.
Strain Posted April 9, 2011 Author Share #427 Posted April 9, 2011 Time to kick it up a notch. Im sorry bstyles but the notch is broken by now lol.
GreeneggsnPelham Posted April 9, 2011 Share #428 Posted April 9, 2011 Fixed the "chunky" pillars and everything--here is an update (6-track station, like Hoyt-Schermerhorn). Btw, the pieces with the walls are end pieces, and the platforms without the walls are the splines, like Magicland's originals.
GreeneggsnPelham Posted April 9, 2011 Share #429 Posted April 9, 2011 Makin' Progress! Stairs and Exit 2T Island Station Exit Enjoy! -A  P.S. To clarify: The platform ends (with the walls) and exits will be stand-alone objects that can be attached to the station splines (without the walls). So, if you wanted to do a simple two-track island station your set up would be [platform end]--[station spline]--[station exit]--[station spline]--[platform end (rotated)]. <- That's just an example. You can have as many station exits as you'd like!
GreeneggsnPelham Posted April 9, 2011 Share #430 Posted April 9, 2011 Here are the platform maps that will be going on the end pieces and the exit pieces. Btw, the map picture is of a real map that I hand drew in June 2010. The actual measurements are about 4 feet x 3 feet. I thought it'd be cool to add my own artwork into the game -A

KTrainExp Posted April 10, 2011 Share #432 Posted April 10, 2011 Everything looks top notch! Nice to see that the pillars are fixed! By the way, if you need a picture or a reference point for the station signs with the subway maps on them, I'll try to take one asap.
Bstyles Posted April 10, 2011 Share #433 Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) What I meant when I said kick it "up" a notch, I meant "elevated". The entire el pack is done: I'll be getting back to the elevated stations ASAP. Edited April 10, 2011 by Bstyles

Bstyles Posted April 10, 2011 Share #439 Posted April 10, 2011 Now the entire el pack is in game and is nearing release(I have to test it first ) *Enlarge the image if you can't see it clearly. Alright, now for a brief knowing of the parts, fifteen in all. They're all track splines(except for the supports), so there's no need to worry about connection issues: 1 - NYCTA El Girders 2 - NYCTA El Girders and Catwalk 3 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd 4 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge 5 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge and Handrail 6 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 1x 7 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 2x 8 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd No Sides 9 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd 10 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge 11 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge and Handrail 12 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 1x 13 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 2x 14 - NYCTA El Support 15 - NYCTA El Support Double Height The sixteenth CDP will be a test route showing you how to use the various parts properly. I'll be releasing them on Tuesday. The first version will be compatible from TRS2006 to TC. The next will be from TRS2009 and beyond. The third and fourth will be mirror versions of these, except they will be vintage-themed, as originally planned. After that, I will work on the el stations, and then the elevated pack will be completed.

2 Train Master Posted April 12, 2011 Share #449 Posted April 12, 2011 Ok I like it.The objects are fantastic but 1 thing concerns me.Is it possible for you to make these tracks more bendy b\c on a curve its all chunky.(yes I used the track straightner) and it helped a bit.
Bstyles Posted April 12, 2011 Share #450 Posted April 12, 2011 No. For one, NYCTA tracks do not bend in 90 degrees around heavy corners(even on the J around Crescent and Jamaica there's some leg room, because it also cuts across buildings below) I made them 5 meters so that they will replicate properly. The CTA pack i'm collaborating for someone else will have more leg room than this, because CTA takes on epic hard turns at times and it will need the reduction in meters. And yes, there's a password on the file. Read the readme(it is meant so that you read the file and read the rules I set out). And this is NOT for Trainz 2004. I'm not one to put people down or anything, but come on. It's been seven years since 2004 came out. I REALLY think it's time for an upgrade.
