@Gorgor: Maybe you could add these

1. My version of the BxM8 (not the renumbered 7A one, BTW), which goes from Chelsea Piers to Hunts Point. You can label it as the BxM12 if you like.

In Manhattan, its terminal is West Street and 18th Street. The streets go like this (Manhattan only).

Downtown:

a. Exists RFK, down 125th.

b. Turns on Frederick Douglas Blvd./Central Park West.

c. Turns on 66th Street, then turns on Columbus Avenue.

d. Descends down Columbus until reaching 14th Street.

e. After traveling down 14th, it turns on West Street and then will turn one more time on 18th (the M14D's terminal, too).

Northbound (Manhattan):

a. After leaving its terminal, goes up 18th, then down 9 Av.

b. Then turns on 14th until hitting 8th Avenue, where it'll turn there.

c. Goes straight up 8th Avenue/Central Park West.

d. Turns on 125th and goes straight down until hitting the RFK, where it'll go north into The Bronx.

2. The BxM5: From Houston Street to Country Club via 1-2-3-4-5. Manhattan's portion's like this (Manhattan only).

Southbound:

a. Exits RFK, down 125th.

b. Turns on Lexington Avenue.

c. Turns on 116th.

d. Turns on 2 Av and goes straight down to Houston Street.

Northbound:

a. Turns from Houston onto 1 Avenue.

b. Turns on 116th Street to 3rd Avenue.

c. Up 3rd Avenue to 125th.

d. Turns on 125th and travels onto the RFK to the Bronx.

3. The BxM15: From Bay Plaza (and Orchard Beach in the summer) to Astor Place via W./E. Fordham Road/Pelham Pkwy and Major Deegan (Cross-Bronx part time) in the Bronx and Midtown Manhattan. These parts are Manhattan only.

Downtown:

a. Exits RFK, down 125th.

b. Turns on 5th Avenue.

c. Turns on 86th Street.

d. Turns on 2nd Avenue to E. 42nd Street.

e. Turns on 42nd.

f. Turns on Park Avenue/Park Avenue South, then goes down Broadway before turning on E. 8th to the M1/2/3 terminal on 9th and 4th Avenue.

Northbound:

a. Up 4th Avenue/Park Avenue (South).

b. Turns on 42 Street.

c. Turns on 1st Avenue.

d. Turns on 86th Street.

e. Turns on Madison Avenue.

f. Turns on 125th and goes on the RFK to the Bronx.

More will come when I make more ideas. B)

Interesting ideas, but for your BxM15 the downtown part can't use Broadway because of the pedestrian plaza near 34th Street. Also some of those routes will surely hit a lot of traffic and could take close to an hour in Manhattan alone.

I should be a bit clearer here.

As the BxM15 descends Park Avenue (South), it'll bump into Broadway at Union Square (B'way crisscroses with Park Avenue South there), so the BxM15 will use Broadway from 14th to Astor Place.

Hope that helps. ^^

Oh wow I misread that and didn't read the "Turns on Park Avenue/Park Avenue South" part. Yeah never mind what I said about that then.

Bx45: This local route would travel between Bay Plaza and Mott Haven via Bruckner Blvd/Major Daegan Expwy. It would follow the Bx12 path in Bay Plaza and terminate in front of 3 Av - 138 St (6).

Bx53: This local route would travel between Riverdale - 262 St and and Amsterdam Av - 129 St via Broadway. It would follow the M104 path in Harlem and terminate with the current Bx9.

Just making a small list of reminders for myself:

M54 & M81 - http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=478381&postcount=247

BxM5, BxM8, BxM15 - http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=478562&postcount=250

M17 - http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=478671&postcount=251

M200 & Q105 - http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=478737&postcount=257

And sorry, not going to include the NM88. I highly doubt that anyone who lives in Manhattan would want to take a bus out all the way to Jones Beach, while making a stop at JFK. Just a little bit "too" far fetched, plus that's Nassau County, right?

I'll be updating the map slowly, but note that they probably won't be added in the order posted because some are just much easier to draw on than the others.

I went to Jamaica Transit Town Hall meeting yesterday, they discuss about most buses don`t have schedule. Some B/Os are rude.

I was thinking if Jamaica folks want express buses?

Here`s my fantasy express bus.

QM26 Midtown: Follows Q60 route from South Jamaica to Archer Av, via 168th St to Hillside Av, Merrick Blvd, Jamaica Av, Sutphin Blvd, Queens Blvd, Van Wyck Expressway/Main St to LIE, then follows QM21, QM24 patterns in Midtown.

Downtown Loop will be called QM36 little different, will use FDR Drive from 34th St to Frankfort/Robert F. Wagner Place, via Water St, State St, Battery Pl, Greenwich St, Church St, Park Place, Park Row, Chatham Square, East Broadway, Pike-Allen Sts to Williamsburg Bridge.

I changed my mind.

X52 follows X82 pattern of GWB to RFK, howeer it will use RFK, Astoria Blvd, Grand Central Parkway to Mets-Willets Point.

X53 follows X83 pattern to 42nd St, and use Queens-Midtown Tunnel and LIE expressway to Main St, then to Roosevelt Av.

Layover in Casey Stengel Depot.

Map updated: http://scaped.net/mta/colab.pdf

Added:

- M54

- M81

Working on now:

- M200

- Q105

- X52

- X53

On hold:

- BxM5

- BxM8

- BxM15

- M17

Not going to add:

- M12 SBS (Basically an SBS version of the M11?)

- M90 SBS (All hell will break loose if I do)

I'm putting the express bus routes on hold for now to make room for regular routes (the X52/X53 are exceptions because they're almost exactly the same as the X82/X83 in Manhattan). Also, the M17 seems to be quite similar to the M81 so to reduce redundancy I might not add it.

Holy s*** I never knew that there's a such thing as 13th Avenue in Manhattan!! Except looking at it in Google Maps it's a sanitation depot...

Gorgor, how did you put the map on Inkscape? Was it pasted, or did you do it from scratch?

Go to http://www.mta.info/maps/, right click the map you want, select "Save link as," and then upload it in Inkscape.

Well, allow me to help Gorgor for a second by putting up my (bare-boned) fantasy Manhattan map!

The labels aren't featured, but I reviewed the maps and routes, and I used them as reference for my own.

The lines featured are:

1. BxM8 to Hunts Point & Chelsea Market (mine)

2. BxM5 to Country Club & Houston Street (mine)

3. BxM15 to Bay Plaza/Orchard Beach & Astor Place (mine)

4. M125 to Astoria & Riverbank Park (mine)

5. M17 to Chelsea and Spanish Harlem (Hoodciti)

6. M32 Loop through Noho (counterclockwise) to Williamsburg (FamousNYLover)

7. M33 Loop through Noho (clockwise) to Williamsburg(FamousNYLover)

8. M98 extension to Central Park South & Cloisters (FamousNYLover)

EDIT: I may not post updates that often due to an eventual heavy college load.

Whoa! Gorgor and RTS CNG Command are excellent and maybe you could both be in Map Design department of MTA.
*laugh* Maybe we can. Thanks. B)

How I was able to retrieve the map (as well as the other boroughs' and Nassau's) is basically how Gorgor did it. I brought 'em to Inkscape. But Inkscape is a little bit laggy on my iMac, so I save 'em as an EPS or SVG file and then open them up into Illustrator. There, I use the tools to clean up the map and place in fantasy routes my own and others' on here (and others if I wanna look for 'em).

P.S.: The lilac coloring on the M17 route I did is from the Nassau bus map. I also picked up its tint in case I'll need it. B)

P.P.S.: I see the error you're mentioning. I'll fix it in the future. Thanks for catching it. :(

MAJOR EDIT: Error is fixed!

RTS CNG Command, I just opened up your map in Inkscape and it was so weird. I see the regular map as it appears on the MTA's website with all the routes and stuff like bus lines, including the X90, and subways except without text.

Do you use some layering thing in Illustrator or whatever you use?

I used Illustrator, and it has a layers feature, so I moved them around and hid them so I can use them as reference and keep the clutter off without deleting the data. Also, when they were initially on Inkscape, I saved the original PDF without text because they automatically convert to outlines/vector graphics on AI, and then I uploaded the SVG/EPS file to Illustrator to begin designing the routes.

I advise you to open it up in a PDF-compatible program like Acrobat for viewing purposes and Illustrator (CS4 or higher) — if you have it — for editing the routes.

Now, SB M98 arrows on 5th Av is facing oncoming traffic.
LOL! Fixed and uploaded. XD
