Y2Julio Posted September 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2010 Was on the B63 on this bus (#9829), looked old as shit, rust all over and a very sloppy stop request system. Is Jackie Gleason depot that short on buses that they needed to run this? Whats the deal with this bus?
KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted September 7, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2010 That looks like every other bus we got , However it just shows how bad JG and CPt Depots need this new Arrival of buses
Y2Julio Posted September 7, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted September 7, 2010 That looks like every other bus we got , However it just shows how bad JG and CPt Depots need this new Arrival of buses I know that Jackie Gleason has older buses compared to the newer ones at the other depots but this one looked really old. Is Jackie getting new CNG buses or something?

Is Jackie getting new CNG buses or something? Julio it's to my understanding that JG And Cpt will be getting New CNG 's like LIB has and that this order was approved late so the bid on these and the fact that these two Depots will be getting buses ASAP

Gleason had a good handful of these ex-CP O5CNGs until the service cuts, which led them to giving a good batch of the buses up to West Farms (terrible idea in my opinion)
T J Trainman Posted September 7, 2010 Share #6 Posted September 7, 2010 From what I have heard, CP isnt getting ANY more CNGs. They are going to become an ALL EXP depot. Some time next year.

But if there's an upside, there are fewer than 10 non-low-floor buses at Gleason.

East New York Posted September 20, 2010 Share #11 Posted September 20, 2010 From what I have heard, CP isnt getting ANY more CNGs. They are going to become an ALL EXP depot. Some time next year. CP is also supposed to be getting New Flyers from what I understand. But I could be wrong. Anything could change in the next 7 months.

Anything could change in the next 7 months. Thats what I've been told by several people as well. CP was slated to get the New Flyers but time will only tell what will happen when April arrives.... From what I have heard, CP isnt getting ANY more CNGs. They are going to become an ALL EXP depot. Some time next year. How about we wait till April to see what happens, we are 6-7 months too early to predict such things.
Grand Concourse Posted September 22, 2010 Share #13 Posted September 22, 2010 Agreed, that's a pretty big rumor if that should happen to CP. Not to mention LGA is already filled to the brim. I really doubt they can give up all of their express routes and take on the remaining CP local routes unless the Union were to compromise on which routes to give up to NYCT. Grand Concourse Posted September 22, 2010 Share #14 Posted September 22, 2010 Woah , those are some old seats . Jg shouldnt have to put up with this . Seeing as those buses are likely gonna go when the new buses comes in, I don't think it makes any sense to reseat those buses.

R10 2952 Posted September 26, 2010 Share #16 Posted September 26, 2010 Oh please, people. I've seen much worse. This 9829 Orion bus is nothing compared to some of the buses I've seen in Eastern Europe. And in Cuba, for example, they apparently still use GMC Fishbowls (the OLD Fishbowls, not the ones from the final production runs). In situations like that, even a Green Lines GMC RTS would be a blessing.
Q25toJamaica Posted September 26, 2010 Share #17 Posted September 26, 2010 Oh come on that isnt that bad...Gleason has less than 10 of those buses compared to College Point's around 150. They all look like that. And they don't have any C40LFs or Orion VII CNGs either.
