Bracamonte 124 Posted September 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2010 From the MTA website: Due to debris on the tracks at various locations, train is temporarily suspended in both directions from the Flushing-Main Street Station to the Times Square-42nd Street Station at this time. NX Express 292 Posted September 16, 2010 Share #2 Posted September 16, 2010 This has already been posted here. Can a mod please merge the two threads? This is sure VERY troublesome for Queens commuters.
T to Dyre Avenue 1,446 Posted September 17, 2010 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2010 It was for me. I transferred from the to the at 14th. The actually seemed to be running OK. I decided to take the to 179th and catch the (Q76) bus to Bayside. Nothing doing! The (Q76) had been suspended (or severely delayed) due to fallen trees and downed wires on Francis Lewis Blvd. I nearly gave up and decided to take the (Q17) to the (Q44) to Flushing. But fortunately, I saw an in-service (Q76) at the 165th St bus station, so I got on there.
MacAlert 7 Posted September 18, 2010 Share #4 Posted September 18, 2010 Was a horrible commute....ended up walking from 52nd Street & Roosevelt all the way to Queens College. No trains, buses or taxis on Roosevelt. Took almost 4 hours to walk home.
TOURQuarterback12 0 Posted September 18, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 18, 2010 ^ LOL You could have took the Q66 bus to Main St then Q17, Q25, Q65, Q20 to Queens College. The 66 runs along Northern Blvd and there isint any trees so it would be just the traffic, same for Main St. It was terrible because all the side streets no one drove on since there are fallen trees and the major blvds, expressways and streets are all traffic jammed. Not when I got out of work. Q66 was not running and Main Street was at a complete stop.
GarbageTruckJuice 5 Posted September 20, 2010 Share #7 Posted September 20, 2010 The Q66 was running. Good luck trying to get on it that day as all of them were packed beyond belief. You would have been better off walking though, I was on the Q19 and got sick of waiting in traffic so I got off and walked. Walked over Northern Blvd. and sped past by 2 Q66's stuck in traffic. I know I got home before those buses finished crossing the bridge to Flushing.
