Shortline Bus Posted October 31, 2010 Share #251 Posted October 31, 2010 The Texas (representing the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex) Rangers have won a World Series game! The Rangers have won the opening game in Arlington 4-2 over the San Francisco Giants and ensuing that they will get the three full World Series games the American League will host this season. On a clear, 79 degree day, attendance at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington was 52,419 meaning that the Rangers attracted 106.6% of capacity. The Baseball Giants still lead the 2010 World Series 2 games to 1. Being fair for the Rangers to still have a real chance to win this series, they must win game #4 tonight.
Grand Concourse Posted October 31, 2010 Share #252 Posted October 31, 2010 If not for that 3 run homer with one strike left, the game could've been 2-1. I'm still hoping for the Giants to finish this series asap. The one good thing is they don't have to worry about Cliff Lee anymore as they seemed to have finally gotten to him. Grand Concourse Posted November 1, 2010 Share #253 Posted November 1, 2010 4-0 win for the Giants and they take a 3-1 series lead. I'm rooting for the giants only to beat Texas.
Shortline Bus Posted November 1, 2010 Share #254 Posted November 1, 2010 4-0 win for the Giants and they take a 3-1 series lead. I'm rooting for the giants only to beat Texas. I did pick the Giants to win this series but on paper, Texas is a better team. Giants are just having a magic carpet ride this post season like the '69 Mets, '88 Dodgers and '90 Reds is having a surprise run to the world series. I think the Rangers with Lee (maybe in his last game in a Texas uniform)will win tonight. Then the Giants IMO will win the 2010 title in 6 games in the Bay area on Wed. night. Assuming SF wins this, it amazing with so many great teams mainly in the early/mid-60's in the Willie Mays era, that they never won a world title since leaving NYC in 1957.
Shortline Bus Posted November 2, 2010 Share #255 Posted November 2, 2010 Bad news for Bud Selig and Fox. A Sunday Night Football game on NBC featuring the last '2' super bowl winners the Saints and Steelers beat in ratings game #4 of the world series. according to Nielsen and most TV industry officals it marks the first time ever, that a SNF game on NBC or for many year prior since 1970 Monday Night Football on ABC. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/11/nfls-steelers-saints-beats-mlbs-world-series-in-tv-ratings/1 Proof that the world series should never end this late in the year.

EE Broadway Local Posted November 2, 2010 Share #258 Posted November 2, 2010 With the Baseball Giants winning a World Series, we still have some curses around: Washington Senators: 1933; 1924 Chicago Cubs: 1945; 1908 Cleveland Indians 1997; 1948 The Cubs and Chicago are the most noteworthy ones: Since 1945, they have been good enough to get as close as the N.L.C.S. only in 1984, 1989, and 2003. The White Sox hold Chicago's only baseball championship (in 2005) since they won it in 1917.

Shortline Bus Posted November 3, 2010 Share #260 Posted November 3, 2010 On Wed. 11/3/10, in what local Bay area media is calling possibly the biggest parade in Northern Calif., since World War II Victory Celebrations, SF is holding a parade for the 2010 winners of the world series, the SF Giants. And as usually there was a handful of arrests(it never seems to happen in NYC after the Yanks, Mets, Giants etc win a title)for violence in Downtown SF. http://WWW.KTVU.COM (FOX Bay Area station) http://WWW.KPIX.COM (CBS SF station)
