Is there a reason why the doesn't purchase Railroad based equipment for the SIRTOA?

 

Can it take any MNR/LIRR equipment? (P32, DE/DM30, Shoreliners, M1 thru 7+ etc?

Railroad sized cars don't fit in St. George, they'd clip the supports for the bus ramps. Transit car designs, wether the line is a railroad or not, makes more sense than railroad design for how the line operates.

 

But originally this was a Railroad and still is, wasn't the fleets at a higher height compared to the R44SIRs?
