Am back Time for some rare pics

From a distant's is the 180th Street Bronx Park terminal, just before being remove until 1952. judging by the low-v still original IRT bottom lights in the distant's this pic was taking the late to mid 40s since you can still see the dual 3rd rail

Here other treat, a street View of the Westchester ave IRT Line Bergen Ave and 149th connection to the 3rd el, you can see a low-v going in to the tunnel to the 149 street underground station. in the background under the Westchester line el structure you can see a GM ''old look''bus, possibly the old BX42 route before the renumbering in the 80s to the Bx4.

Early this morning some 36 years ago, the Jamaica Elevated was abandoned from Queens Blvd to 168 St in anticipation for the Archer Avenue subway. Here are some pictures of the stations before they were torn down.

Let's bring this thread back. The pictures were taken by Frank Pfuhler. These shots were taken on August 14th, 1955 at Westchester yard. The R17s were not in regular passenger service until October 10th, 1955 on the Pelham line. Until then, the Hi-Vs and Lo-Vs were the only trains running the Pelham line.

What's with the Grey J bullet? Never seen that before...

It was the color used until 1979. Technically, it, like the 5 and B, was colored black on the maps, but they all used grey bullets, presumably for clarity.
