Juelz4309 Posted October 17, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2010 Always Been Fascinated with The Line Becuase of its Versatilities in Terminals..So I figured out the Schedule From 238 St and Dyre Ave..Becuase in the official Guide it dosent show u the departures for Nereid ave Only The 621am and The Last one at 816am..Now According to the official Timetable.... it says "trains depart either terminal every 8-12 Mintues" So based on that I came up with this rough schedule give or take a minute or two.... Nereid Ave-238 ST Eastchester-Dyre Ave-233 st 621am 628am 629am 638am 639am 648am 649am 659am 700am 709am 708am 718am 719am 726am 727am 736am 737am 746am 748am 754am 759am 804am 807am 822am 816am Travel Time :238 st to E 180 st : 15 Minutes Dyre Avenue To E 180 st : 14 Minutes According to my 'schedule" Between 6:36am and 8:36am A total of 26 Trains pass thru East 180 Street Southbound as "Bronx-Lex Express Bound for Flatbush,Utica,or New Lots Avenue. And not to mention The(2) Train departing Between From 241 St, That leaves 14 Trains Southbound between The above mentioned hours for a total of 40 Trains! AND...Put ins from Unionport Yard as work Continues on E180 st Yard. Kudos to the Folks Who work That Tower! Orchestrating Such a Operation 5 mornings a week..If any Train Operators,Employees along these Lines Could Confirm Some of this To back me up would be nice!! Thanx:cool:

RTOMan Posted October 17, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 17, 2010 What about when some <5>s run Express from 180th to Gun Hill? During pm peak Some of Those trains that do it thier last stop is Gun Hill Rd, they go right to the Yard from there. Not all of them do it. The reason is they Dont want to delay the jacked up service @ 238th Street while it waits for a to get cleaned out and go to the yard.
TwoTimer Posted October 17, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 17, 2010 A couple used to go to Bowling Green as well, around the loop and drop out at E180.

At least one train went EXP to Gun Hill, then LCL to

agonyisfun Posted October 18, 2010 Share #8 Posted October 18, 2010 Off topic, but I always wanted to know why rush hour service was cut from 241st street to 238th street.
Guest lance25 Posted October 18, 2010 Share #9 Posted October 18, 2010 It's easier for the trains to go from 238th Street to the yard than it is to back up from Wakefield to go there.
