My Busy Commute with Transit

I had very busy day today.

At Junction Blvd, I took Flushing-bound Semiexpress to Mets-Willets Point to see if they have new Manhattan Bus Map, but no luck, so I took Times Sq-bound local to 74th St-Broadway.

As I was on escalator to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Av, I made announcement change on and .

I took World Trade Center-bound via line, made train announcement, then got off at 47th-50th Sts/Rockfeller Center.

As I walk through Rockfeller Plaza underpass, I made announcement there is no crosstown bus (M50) on Weekend, as I exit via 49th St elevator, then walk to Madison Av.

As I walk down Madison Av & 47-46th St, there was two people at BxM4 bus stop looking to go to Cloisters. Since he was looking at express bus guide-a-ride, I told them M4 Cloisters on next block after they told me they want to go to Cloisters. I gave them new Manhattan Bus map to help them better. After I got few bus map from MTA Headquarter, I took same M4 bus with them at Madison Av/45th St, which sign was naked it.

I took that to 57th St, making announcement there is no M1 bus available at this location.

When I was trying to get on Q32 after taking pic, he failed to stop, but by then I saw M31 sitting across the street, so I took M31 to 57th St/2nd Av, took little break to see if anyone needs help using M15 SBS Farebox.

 

As I walk north on 2nd Av, no one was waiting for Q101 at 58th St, then walk to 60th St, then turn right, and by Queensboro Bridge 60th St Exit Ramp, I spotted 3 cars drove illegal on 60th St Bus Lane Only.

As I make sure no other cars enter bus lane, I caught picture of 2 Q60s coming out from exit ramp, while waiting for Q101 to pop out.

After few moments, I went to 1st Av/57th St, paid for M15 SBS, took SBS.

At 79th St Station, someone who was helping with SBS recognized me from 2005 X-Mas NY Times Article, and together we took M15 SBS to 86th St Station.

After I assist my friend, and after that I walk up 1st Av to 92nd St, spotted cars parked on 24-hours bus lane.

Got quick Arizona Grape juice at my former neighborhood Deli, who still remember me as next door neighborhood when I used to live in Manhattan.

Then, next I walk down 2nd Av to see my FDNY friend LO13, then walk to 88th St Station, to help M15 SBS, took that to 79th St Station.

Took juice break while waiting for M15 SBS.

After that, I helped Japanese/Spanish while I was waiting for M79 to come.

After few SBS came, I took M79 bus to MET Museum.

Then at 5th Av/80th St, I help little, then got myself lunch at Museum Cafeteria to go, and went to stop by at Nurse Station, my friend was busy, so I went outside to 5th Av/80th St.

 

At that time, couple (man/woman) who wanted to take from 5th Av-53rd St to World Trade Center for Hoboken PATH, so I told them there's no . And they told me they want to take PATH from WTC to Hoboken, so I told them there's no Hoboken from there. So I told them kindly take M4 bus to 34th St-6th Av and take Hoboken PATH from there. They said thank you.

After that, I went back to Nurse Station, who my friend has been taking M15 SBS.

 

About 50 minutes to closing time, I left the building, after I took few city/charter bus shot, I took 2nd M79 to 2nd Av/79th St, took M15 SBS to 34th St. Help my SBS friend.

After that I took picture of MTA BusTime on bus pole at 34th St/2nd Av. When I saw Artic bus going up westbound, I almost thought that was M34 using Artic, but I found out it was M101 bus. LOL.

 

I took M34 and took pic of MTA Bus Time poster, then took to 8th Av, walk down to 31st St.

 

I made announcement all MegaBus service is on 9th Av/31st St and there was few couples sitting waiting for MegaBus mixed up with MVP Bus riders.

 

There was few people waiting for MegaBus, so I directed them to 9th Av/31st St stop.

 

After I went to checkout new MegaBus stop, I took picture of MegaBus at new stop, then went back, where MegaBus dispatcher was posted.

I helped him.

 

There was two people on T&LC Car Service got off passenger thinking MegaBus stop at this stop, but when T&LC Driver saw his passenger "What happened?"

Passenger told driver "They moved to 9th Av/31st St."

Driver said, "I didn't know they change it. If you like, I take you there."

His passenger said, "That's OK. We walk."

 

And at few moments, I spotted two people looking for PeterPan bus at Penn Station!!

When I check their ticket, it said, PeterPan/Greyhound Bus NY, NY."

I guessed that leaves from PABT, since all their service is base out of PABT.

I enter Penn Station to get copy of LIRR Chaos Schedule, and when I heard announcement "Metro-North arriving, I decided to go take picture, so at LIRR Platform, (NJT) train was doing Metro-North Meadowland Special.

As I was waiting for special metro-North to leave, Amtrak Acela Express left first, so I got video of it on Track 15 LIRR platform. At that time, there was police activity at Woodside halted all LIRR service to/from Penn Station.

And then, I went back to old MegaBus Stop and I helped with MegaBus passenger with dispatcher, I talk with him that I wonder why passenger does not pay attention, even it clearly state on webpage/e-ticket 9th Av/31st St. He told me lots of MegaBus folks were confused.

After few moment, I went into Penn Station, then enter IND 34th St-Penn Station.

There was lots of people waiting for , so I took them to take any train to 42nd St for Queens-bound to 74th St-Broadway/Jackson heights-Roosevelt Av.

Then, next I went to Express platform and took uptown express next stop, 42nd St-PABT, help little there, then help on Times Sq IRT Platform for little.

Then, after quick you know-what break, I took Flushing-bound Semiexpress to 5th Av-bryant Park, which was perfect timing with Jamaica Center-bound via .

 

Man sitting near door on opposite site, "I like this man" because I was making all train and closed station announcement."

After I got off at JH-Roosevelt Av, up escalator was out of service again, so I went down to Manhattan-bound platform, making announcement about via .

As I took elevator up to Middle Mezz, then second elevator, I made announcement with change on and , took to Flushing platform, made it to front car of Flushing-bound Semiexpress to Junction Blvd home.
