Grand Concourse Posted October 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2010 From September: A bit more recently: a panoramic [still trying to get used to it] At least they finally 'sunked' the tracks. But even as of yesterday, still no progress. I wonder when this realignment will ever be done?

Grand Concourse Posted October 20, 2010 Author Share #11 Posted October 20, 2010 So this is a new thing or what? I'm not familiar with the SBK tracks... Quit foaming already. All I know is that the new set of tracks runs thru what used to be the Costco's parking lot annex [which was a huge relief given how crowded that place is on weekends]. The old lot the MTA has is likely to be taken over by some company or whatever [that or they are phasing out the old tracks because they don't need so many tracks there]. That plus it's probably time to just straiten out the connection [connect to the new 'line'] than to keep the tracks 'oddly curved'.* *just my opinions, don't hold me to it as the facts. God, I wished he was just banned already. He's derailed so many other threads... [i'll stop here, since we all get the idea of how much of a pest he is]. Grand Concourse Posted October 20, 2010 Author Share #12 Posted October 20, 2010 Nice shots! Gotta take a trip there one day. Thanks! It was so cool when those old cars where there. Pity that 'lot' has decreased in size. Such a shame. But it will be neat seeing them build this new connection. I just hope it doesn't mean they'll rip up the old tracks on the street [which will likely happen].

Cross Harbor RR Posted October 20, 2010 Share #16 Posted October 20, 2010 Work still has not moved since the summer. There was a work train down there at the end of August, on a Saturday. The other end of the roadbed is still ended by the small wall for a fence by the sidewalk.
