BRT is a limited service bus line that runs fast. It have its own dedicated lane. Also might feature technology like extending a green light when coming up to a signal. The MTA is using artics they have now to start BRT, starting with the Bx12 on June 29th.

What does Bus Rapid Transit mean?

Will they use the articulated buses they have now?

Will it eliminate the route it is supposed to be on, likewise the M15?

They will most likely replace Limited routes on the line they operate on. But will be the same route #, and will read Select Bus Service, dropping the now familiar LIMITED. They will use Artics they currently have, and will most likely add new ones as they come in.

According to the newly-added pictures on the MTA Website (bottom of page), MTA has started putting up ticket machines and extra-wide bus shelters with the Select Bus-design on the glass panes along the Bx12 route.

Can anybody here specify at which station the double-size bus shelter is?

I stand corrected. LTD runs are here to stay and supplement SBS.
