Trainspotter Posted April 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2008 2 suicides from Tappan Zee Bridge within an hour THE ASSOCIATED PRESS - TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - New York state police say two men have jumped to their deaths from a bridge within an hour. The police say the suicide leaps from the Tappan Zee Bridge into the Hudson River were unrelated. A police report says the short time between their jumps was unprecedented. Police say witnesses saw a man stop his car on the bridge's eastbound lanes near the Rockland County side and jump over the railing at 1:40 p.m. Thursday. Then at 2:30 p.m. a man driving west jumped from the bridge at mid-span, near its highest point. Fire department boats from nearby towns found the bodies. DOB2RTO Posted April 6, 2008 Share #4 Posted April 6, 2008 For some reason, that bridge has had alot of suicides and suicide attempts. Maybe it's built just right. Not to high, and not to low. To low, you know you won't die. To high, you'll think 10 times before jumping. TZB is just right, for those who want to end it all that way. sebbieprops Posted April 7, 2008 Share #5 Posted April 7, 2008 I haven't been up in that area in a while (at least 2 years). Still, I'm quite sad to hear it.
