Calvin Posted October 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2010 Today, i was at Quentin RD and i saw 3 B100s that are hybrid and 1 CNG. Arent CNGs used on weekdays ? because mostly local routes on weekends are all hybrids.
nycbusfan Posted October 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 24, 2010 Most buses out on weekends are Orion VII's, however an Orion V will pop up every so often. I saw one on the B100 last Saturday night.
R32 3348 Posted October 24, 2010 Share #3 Posted October 24, 2010 I don't really understand why SC is half hybrid and half CNG anyway. If it has a CNG fueling station, then shouldn't they maximize that benefit and make the depot 100% CNG for local routes? Those hybrids could be used elsewhere. This would also cut down on maintenance costs.
East New York Posted October 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted October 24, 2010 I don't really understand why SC is half hybrid and half CNG anyway. If it has a CNG fueling station, then shouldn't they maximize that benefit and make the depot 100% CNG for local routes? Those hybrids could be used elsewhere. This would also cut down on maintenance costs. After they upgrade the CNG systems, and the New Flyers come in, the depot will be all CNG for locals.
