126 is losing 2 routes, but getting 1 in return?

It's not the number of routes but their the relative sizes (i.e. frequencies, runs, and fleet requirements). The M60 is roughly the same "size" as the M66 and M72 put together. The swap will probably save money by having M60 drivers make reliefs near the depot at 125th & 2nd - i.e. with minimal travel time and zero headway allowance.

I can see why it makes sense but it depends on what Manhattanville gets back. If it gets the M66/M72, it wouldn't make sense do to the long deadhead (though hybrids would help in the stop in go traffic that the M66/72 goes through and save on fuel). For the M60, its a much quicker deadhead for buses from 126 to go to Laguardia Airport then for Manhattanville. Though in the sense of things, it would make a lot more sense to have a split between Casey Stengel/Laguardia and Manhattanville (But this is the mta and there is also the union issues). It would be nice (this a dream) if the 25 of the LFS went to 126, got luggage racks and sent back the NG's to MHV. At the same time, I am preferential to the RTS, considering a catch them on the M66 and M31.

From what I heard, no artics are going on the M60. LaGuardia's roads are too narrow for articulated buses

What? There is no way that Astoria Blvd and the streets around LaGuardia Depot is too narrow, they tested articulated New Flyers from Kingsbridge at LaGuardia following specific routes.

I meant the roads in LaGuardia Airport

I don't get it when people say the roads are too narrow. Articulated coaches are the same width as all the rest of our buses. The only thing that may be an issue sometimes is the length when it comes to parking/terminals.
