The Flemington Racecourse line is a 2.2KM branch line off the Cragieburn line serving Showgrounds and Flemington Racecourse. The line only Carries passengers when special events at eather station(Showgrounds for the Royal Melbourne show and Flemington racecouse for Racing meets like the Melbourne cup). When services do operate train can operate trains can run as low as 4 minutes apart. Outside the special event days empty interpeak trains stable at Flemington racecourse. The line makes intresting use of 2 position Automatic signalling and 2 position semaphore signals controlled by Mechanical signal boxes including an 1885 frame at the racecourse.

 

Looking in the down direction towards Showground Station.

Northern Comeng 581M trails an Empty Flinders Street bound special. While on the down line a Flemington Racecourse bound train passes.

The same train rounds the corner to Newmarket.
