Shortline Bus Posted November 5, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2010 A cool anniversity this month. In Nov. 1985, the Chicago Bears on their way to winning Super Bowl20 created a landmark LOL(it's true)music video in which they became the first major sports team used a music video as a theme for their world title. Guys what you think? Back then it was so cool and the pre-ESPN days. I am sure East New York and even Harry will smile at this? Reactions? FYI. The Bears went 15-1 and lost only 1 game a close MNF game to the Dolphins late in the season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBGdj4buhBg Or guys you prefer the '86 Mets "Lets go Mets' Video which came out a year later. Locomotion69 Posted November 9, 2010 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2010 Yeah I remember that Bears team with William "Refrigerator" Perry,a 362lb defensive lineman, sometimes used a full back or as a blocker near the goal line, that was a great defensive team. That was the Bears last Super Bowl win, they lost to the Colts in 2006.
Harry Posted November 9, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 9, 2010 Yes I remember. Every time I hear the name Refrigerator Perry it also reminds me of the Bud Bowls with the 40 oz. frige.

Shortline Bus Posted November 10, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted November 10, 2010 It's a little hard for many of us to remember things that happened before we were born. Since, on the overall scale, most members here are younger than me, most of them are not going to remember. To even remember the Mets win, they'd have to be born around 1982 That why I am the old man here on NYCTF. Take Gertiol and Viagara to keep myself active. And flirting with nurses in a nursing home as well as 1985 seems like ancient history now:cry::cool:. *wink* LOL. I was in grade #7 in 1985-86 when this came out around Thanksgiving and that is what everyone was talking about. Even non-sport fans including the girls in our class as well. So for 1985 standards(probably 'cheesy now' is this a cool video guys?)

Shortline Bus Posted November 10, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted November 10, 2010 From what I've seen, they're cheesey by 80s standards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEG7OzvSMBA now that's a video. I love that song. And great video too. A song that actually has meaning i.e promoting world peace and speaking out against the 'cold war' of that era.:tup: Now it's about booty call(sex), insulting someone or just controversy in most of today's pop music.
