Gorgor Posted November 6, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 6, 2010 Using trainz 2010, I tried installing almost every single one so far and NONE work. There's always some missing attachment point and I try to mess around with it in content manager by deleting it and it still doesn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated! If you have the content manager, scan the cars and see what KUIDs you might be missing, most of them can be found in the Trainz Download Station. Though I'm not too sure if these cars work for the game.
Gorgor Posted November 7, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted November 7, 2010 I just tried that and found out that all of them are dependent on a faulty asset called "subway" The errors for that file are: Progressive meshes are no longer supported by Trainz. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh.Progressive meshes are no longer supported by Trainz. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh. Unable to load mesh file: 'subway_shadow\subway_shadow.pm' When I went to edit it in explorer I saw that the file was missing. I'll try re-downloading it when the download center goes back online. Cait Sith Posted November 8, 2010 Share #5 Posted November 8, 2010 Wow,does 2010 have Metro North content such as stations and the M7? Trainz Classics 1 and 2 has the M7A and some other Metro North stuff, the route they made for it sucks, as it ends at Bronxville I just tried that and found out that all of them are dependent on a faulty asset called "subway" The errors for that file are: When I went to edit it in explorer I saw that the file was missing. I'll try re-downloading it when the download center goes back online. I figured that was the case, with the past games, they would make similar parts compatible with the game, in 2010, I hear its a complicating case. Bstyles Posted November 12, 2010 Share #7 Posted November 12, 2010 Interesting how a help topic turned into a critique. Anyway, since Magicland's content was made for Trainz 2004, Trainz 2010 no longer supports them. Short version: None of Magicland's trains will work in Trainz 2010, PERIOD, unless he edits them to do so. I guess you're just going to have to wait until someone makes new content, if he doesn't. That's so freakin ridiculous. That was the ONLY reason I bought trainz... so I could have fun making a subway route. I got 2010 cause it was the newest version and looked great, but there's so many other things that don't work in it also. I was however able to get some of his trains (R46 and Low-v) working by entering a blank mesh thingy, but the train has no wheels and goes extremely slow. 2 Train Master Posted November 22, 2010 Share #15 Posted November 22, 2010 Magicland also left the Trainz community from what I've been told on the forum, so I doubt anything will be released or updated, though I've been wrong before. Yea it could be permanently or temporarily we don't know. But however we have new content on the way for subways by Bstyles and ExpressLine3train on the forums.Their work is great but has not been released to the public yet. GreeneggsnPelham Posted November 30, 2010 Share #17 Posted November 30, 2010 If you run TS2010 in Compatibility Mode, all of Magicland's trains will work. In the main menu, click on options and check the box that says "Enable Compatibility Mode for Older Content". That's the only way you're going to get them to work! Still can't wait for BStyles' and ExpressLine's content to come out! Hope this helps!

Gorgor Posted December 31, 2010 Author Share #22 Posted December 31, 2010 Wow I never thought to do that. All I did was play around with the file called "subway" by removing all the mesh and everything from it which got the trains to at least work, but like I described in the first post, without any wheels and they go extremely slow. I'll re-download that file as soon as the DLS starts working for me again. It's full right now but it probably won't be in the morning. Thanks for the tip, I hope it works! Gorgor Posted December 31, 2010 Author Share #25 Posted December 31, 2010 They work!!! :D I don't think they work properly though because notice that you put it at maximum speed and it only crawls forwards. Then try stopping it and see how long it takes. Oh and do you know how to change the signs on the train? I think it's with a control while in-game but I can't find out.
