Zman Posted November 7, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 7, 2010 There's a word for how we raise money in this country, without hurting the poor. Taxes. And I pay enough taxes as it is. Citaro Posted November 7, 2010 Share #6 Posted November 7, 2010 And I pay enough taxes as it is. I have absolutely no desire to even pay one more penny to aid the poor. Are you a billionaire? 1. Most of your tax money is spent on military, your own security. 2. Look at this! Why? : Total tax ratio as percentage of GDP And this going on in other countries: Majority of Germans against Merkel's tax cuts (Published: 8 Jan 10, thelocal.de) "The majority of Germans are against the new centre-right coalition’s latest tax cuts, a poll released by public broadcaster ARD on Friday revealed. New wave of tax relief comes into force - Business & Money (2 Jan 10) Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative Christian Democrats (CDU) and their junior coalition partners the pro-business Free Democrats (FDP) only narrowly succeeded at passing controversial €8.5-billion in tax relief in December. But the government has made no secret the package is just a taste of larger cuts planned for the coming years. However, many economists have said the country's dire finances cannot handle the new fiscal measures, and the poll showed that most Germans agree. Some 58 percent of those asked by ARD said they were against the tax cuts, while 38 percent said they were in favour of a sweeping tax reform in 2011. Among CDU supporters some 56 percent were against the government's tax policies, and 36 percent were in favour. Even the majority of FDP supporters were against the coalition’s decision. Some 53 percent said they did not support their party’s plans to lessen their tax burden, while 43 percent said they would still be in favour. The most resistance came from the highest earning poll participants, who make more than €3,000 after taxes a month. Just 31 percent of the wealthy said they supported paying fewer taxes, and 69 percent were opposed. Forty-nine percent of lower-income households, which earn less than €1,500 after taxes, said they would welcome tax cuts. Another 45 percent said they didn’t think a few extra euros were necessary. When asked whether the tax cut levels were appropriate, participants were split almost evenly. Forty-five percent said they were acceptable, and 44 percent said they were too high. Just one percent said they were too low. The poll was conducted for ARD by Infratest dimap, who questioned 1,000 citizens on Monday and Tuesday." Locomotion69 Posted November 7, 2010 Share #7 Posted November 7, 2010 They should sterilize these people! What is their ******* problem with having so many damm kids that you can't support! A cat can have babies, it doesn't take much intelligence at all. The only group of people who should be spared are the truly disabled but I can't understand why an able bodied adult can't work. New York's Medicaid program was $100 million beyond its fiscal 2010 budget in January, a deficit that could reach $400 million by the end of fiscal 2011. Medicaid enrollment in the state reached a record 4.2 million people in October 2009, 13% above the previous record of 3.7 million from August 2005. Citaro Posted November 7, 2010 Share #10 Posted November 7, 2010 Do you receive Medicaid or food stamps Citaro? which one is it? Shall i die? I'm from the country where Siemens and Daimler is coming from. We have universal health care and last time we had food stamps here was during WW2. I can't understand why an able bodied adult can't work. There is no work. The economy is ruined by Bush and thanks Obama you have no total collapse: They should sterilize these people! Sterilization is what the Nazis did: Eugenics!
Citaro Posted November 7, 2010 Share #11 Posted November 7, 2010 It's not like Texas is broke because immigrants are getting knocked up across the border. Canceling Medicaid means cutting support for EVERY low-income individual, be them white, black, brown, blue, married or single, parent or not. Maybe some of the poor are having more babies than they can support. But then some of the poor are just poor, unemployed, non-parent individuals. And they're about to become a lot worse off. They will die. It's euthanasia. Canceling Medicaid is euthanasia, it's like that what the Nazis did and Obama is Hitler lol.

Urbanfortitude Posted November 7, 2010 Share #18 Posted November 7, 2010 If you want a serious dicussion about healthcare here, you need to keep citaro and his bogus charts out of it. How are they bogus? He's not making this shit up out of thin air. I've known more people outside of the country being able to discuss these issues with any kind of intelligence than people I have met inside. They keep a pretty close watch on what we do because in some sort of way our country's government has an indirect or direct effect on them. Zman Posted November 8, 2010 Share #19 Posted November 8, 2010 And not a cent of what you pay goes to Texas's budget. So if Texas were to tax its people to pay for aid for the poor and disabled, not a cent would come out of your pocket. Your money helps the country and New York state -- Texas's taxes aren't your taxes. Until the federal government changes your tax bracket or New York State cancels Medicaid (and rue the day), you won't be "paying one more penny to aid the poor." You said, and I quote, "There's a word for how we raise money in this country, without hurting the poor. Taxes." You didn't say Texas taxes, you said taxes period. So don't go bringing Texas into this and trying to deflect what you had said. Well I don't feel like paying more taxes to subsidize the poor because that only puts more pressure onto the middle class (re: Me). I'm tired of it. MTARegional Bus Posted November 8, 2010 Share #21 Posted November 8, 2010 We shouldn't forget that most tax money does come from the very, very top. Income taxes on the rich make up a HUGE percentage of our income, and are necessary to our country. Not to mention that dramatic inequality is absolutely terrible for a country. And yet the wealthy complain that the taxes are to high. ''How am I going pay for my sec house''lol I guess it true about the Rebulicans heath care plan and here is there slogan. "Just don't get sick''

Well I don't feel like paying more taxes to subsidize the poor because that only puts more pressure onto the middle class (re: Me). I'm tired of it. Better solution: Tax only the wealthy more. They've been getting away with murder since the Reagan years and it's only gotten worse. Now it's time to pay the piper the way they used to have to. If they "leave the country" as a result of higher taxes, they're still going to have to pay the taxes first and that's going to create a lot of new opportunities for middle class Americans to step into their shoes and become wealthy. No one should be raising any taxes on the working and middle class (ie you or me). Only the rich. Who will fight long, loud, and hard to prevent that with every last dying breath. And ironically they're the ones who "need" every last penny of their money the least. Hypocrites.
