Ftrainfan Posted November 11, 2010 Author Share #11 Posted November 11, 2010 Buses and trains running weekday schedule. yeah. I was so shocked when I saw a train running it's full route instead of the shuttle! And just when I was always under the impression that trains would run on a weekend schedule on veterans day but... I guess I missed the nail on the head! BTW everyone: the trip was EPIC! Sure I did not get a R42 train but like I said , R160s rule anyway! But I did take lots of pics and I did run into a good friend on the train. She was awesome! And I'm not tooting my horn here or anything but let's just say I caught a R46 on a certain line that's not suppose to run them anymore... I'll leave it @ that for now. Just to humor you guys! Mua ha ha ha ha!

Forest Glen Posted November 11, 2010 Share #13 Posted November 11, 2010 I had class today. And I'm basically tired of fanning the NYC subway. My future railfan trips will focus on commuter railroads and other cities.

Ftrainfan Posted November 13, 2010 Author Share #22 Posted November 13, 2010 Cannot be the . AT ALL. train? And if that's right, it is NOT mentioned in your post. NO! the run R46s ALL THE TIME!!! Think! The is actually a little bit slower than it. It runs though manhattan and queens only. When R46s DID run on this line , it was EXTREMELY RARE! Think! Ftrainfan Posted November 13, 2010 Author Share #24 Posted November 13, 2010 Queens and Manhattan... the ? ........... YOU GOT IT!!!! DING DING! WINNER! Yes sir , I technically took a R46 yesterday! Here's what happened: It was originally the , but when it got to 42nd street , there was a gap in train frequency apparently so that train became a train. Of course so many riders were pissed since they had to get off and wait for the next train. It was pure awesomeness riding a 46 on the again from 42nd street to the center. And I actually got a seat since I was on the train when it was the ! I would have taken a lot more pics than I did but my camera was low on juice. Personally , I don't pefer R46s on the but It was nice to get something rare on my trip!
