checkmatechamp13 Posted November 13, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 13, 2010 What is the shortest distance you have ever ridden on a bus? In the past couple of days, I've noticed people making very short trips (1 or 2 stops). The stupidest example I saw was 3 schoolchildren waiting 25 minutes for a bus to go one stop. I have done that only once, and I was making a transfer (from the S44 to the S48), and I saw the bus coming. Also, what is the longest distance you will walk before you have to be on some form of public transportation? (Walks for recreation don't count). I'll walk about 1-1.5 miles on a regular basis and 2.5 miles tops before I have to get onto some form of motorized transportation.

East New York Posted November 13, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 13, 2010 Probably a tie between...... B39 From Essex to Allen because a friend of mine was driving, and I caught him at the corner. B54 between Myrtle-Flatbush and Jay St. just because it was 9525.
LRG Posted November 13, 2010 Share #5 Posted November 13, 2010 Actually I did ride an LFSA on the M15 for only one stop earlier this year (around April) just so I could say that I rode the bus. Then I headed to the ferry for school.
gtNovaBusRTS9369 Posted November 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted November 13, 2010 My shortest ride I remember was taking the Q3 (Over the Summer) from Linden Blvd to 113 Av & that takes like 5 Minutes.

Fresh Pond Posted November 13, 2010 Share #11 Posted November 13, 2010 I do that all the time going to work. I always take the M15 SBS one stop from 14 St to 23 St but the shortest time I ever took the bus was the B25 from Fulton St & Malcolm X Blvd to Fulton St & Stuyvesant Av (1 block). I didn't feel like walking that 1 block while on my way to school and the bus was right there so I hopped on the bus lol. It alldepends on my mood, if im in a good mood, then I'll walk but otherwise im just a lazy bastard

B35 via Church Posted November 13, 2010 Share #14 Posted November 13, 2010 can't say exactly... ...but I've been on a bunch of trips where I got off @ the next stop on a bus b/c I realized I was on the wrong bus, when it made a turn I wasn't suspecting/too familiar with... ^^ in plain english, I got on the wrong route & paid no attention to the destination sign on a bus route in unfamiliar territory.... that was back when I first started fanning out-of-state.... hey, you live & learn... cotb16 Posted November 13, 2010 Share #24 Posted November 13, 2010 Mine would be the Bx6 heading from 3rd Av to Melrose Av, and that was only because there was construction and delays at Melrose Av, due to new housing getting built (Courtlandt Corners). From Melrose, I walked to the train. But the biggest offenders for anyone I've seen would be: Bx6: from Morris av or Sheridan Av to Yankee Stadium Bx6: from 3rd Av to Trinity Av to avoid walking uphill Bx13: from Yankee Stadium to West 162nd St/Ogden Av Bx11: from Jerome Av to Edward L. Grant Highway Bx35: from Morris Av to Grand Concourse Bx12: from Fordham Plaza to Grand Concourse Bx26: from Jerome Av to Marion Av
