FamousNYLover Posted November 13, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 13, 2010 Around 15:18 today, I was on Penn Station-bound M4. school bus who was in ahead of us, stop in middle of Broadway around 153rd St, use Amber Light and drop off student in middle of intersection. That was so dangerous. We almost got into accident.

Kingsbridge Bus Posted November 13, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 13, 2010 Wow, very unsafe, they are supposed to get as close to the sidewalk as possible and pull out the stop sign to stop traffic to allow the child to exit the bus safely. FamousNYLover Posted November 13, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted November 13, 2010 No one was hurt. I wonder why some school bus B/O's don't use Amber Light? They suppose to use it right, even if they dropping off or picking up student or adult? I try to go to same stop on Monday if I could get picture of that reckless school bus B/O again. PATCOman Posted November 13, 2010 Share #9 Posted November 13, 2010 Maybe the driver was "abusing his power" by having the flashing red light on since nobody can pass a school bus while red lights are flashing.

Exactly. some school bus drivers just throw the red lights on while traffic is flowing smoothly and all of a sudden everything comes to a screetching stop just to let a kid out thats not even crossing the street. Another thing I cannot for the life of me understand is...when school bus drivers or matrons load handicap students with the wheel chair lift from the sidewalk why the hell do they have to put the red lights on? Absolutlety unecassary. Cabs, access a ride & school buses are the terrorist of the roads.
