GojiMet86 Posted November 20, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 20, 2010 Cool vid! I wish our subway could have opportunies like that. A subway and a railroad together (even though PATH is not subway).
metsfan Posted November 21, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted November 21, 2010 Subway has been and always will be non-FRA passenger rapid transit. PATH between newark and exp is what's left of PRR's inter-city service to the hudson waterfront. You can still see the original cat towers & the big big substation that used to put power out onto that branch's catenary. One good side effect of this is you keep the old steam/cat main as a freight line. - A
EE Broadway Local Posted November 21, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 21, 2010 Hey! Cool Video! That BNSF was on the tracks alongside Newark Avenue at the Pedestrian Overpass west of Tonnele Avenue! I know that building on the corner. The pedestrian overpass is a good place for PATH-spotting.
