Cool vid! I wish our subway could have opportunies like that. A subway and a railroad together (even though PATH is not subway).

Subway has been and always will be non-FRA passenger rapid transit.

 

PATH between newark and exp is what's left of PRR's inter-city service to the hudson waterfront. You can still see the original cat towers & the big big substation that used to put power out onto that branch's catenary.

 

One good side effect of this is you keep the old steam/cat main as a freight line.

Hey! Cool Video! That BNSF was on the tracks alongside Newark Avenue at the Pedestrian Overpass west of Tonnele Avenue! I know that building on the corner.

 

The pedestrian overpass is a good place for PATH-spotting.
