gregorygrice Posted November 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2010 I had just got done railfanning when I crossed the street and the engine of this Beeline Neoplan Artic (#549 running route 40 to Mt. Vernon) popped and started shooting out smoke RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! The Bus driver immediately turned the bus in the middle of the street and evacuated the bus. This video shows the bus operator pulling the bus to the nearest street. Enjoy! (Taken at the White Plains Transit Center)

gregorygrice Posted November 24, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted November 24, 2010 Glad you're all right. What do you think happened? Something with the engine must of went wrong. The smoke also caused a powdery substance which might of been something that the engine spat out to stop the fire.
East New York Posted November 24, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 24, 2010 Nice catch. Looks like oil may have leaked onto some part of the engine.

Gramps Posted November 28, 2010 Share #9 Posted November 28, 2010 Doesn't look like a fire. It appears that the fire extinguisher went off prematurely.
