Trainmaster5 Posted November 30, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 30, 2010 Is there a way to travel from Fayetteville to Charlotte on a daily basis via Amtrak ? Sort of a commuter type trip or would one be forced to use Greyhound instead? I've made that trip by car a few times but I haven't heard of anyone making the trip by train, yet the state SEEMS to be covered with rail. EE Broadway Local Posted November 30, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 30, 2010 Looking at Amtrak's website, no, not on a daily basis. The #79 Carolinian/#90 Palmetto via Wilson runs daily, but with only one train, the schedules don't mesh: Charlotte To Fayetteville: #79 Carolinian LV: 7:30am AR Wilson, N.C. 12:01pm Connection in Wilson: 12:02 to 2:21pm #90 Palmetto LV: 2:22pm AR: 3:44pm Time: 8 hours 14 minutes Fare: $61 Fayetteville To Charlotte #90 Palmetto LV: 1:04pm AR: Wilson, N.C. 2:23pm Connection in Wilson: 2:24 to 3:31pm #79 Carolinian LV: 3:32pm AR: 8:14pm Time: 7 hours 10 minutes Fare: $61 This is the most direct, fastest trip I came up with. If one could do this on a daily basis, their trip time would be 15 hours 24 minutes.
