Travel Within North Carolina

Is there a way to travel from Fayetteville to Charlotte on a daily basis via Amtrak ? Sort of a commuter type trip or would one be forced to use Greyhound instead? I've made that trip by car a few times but I haven't heard of anyone making the trip by train, yet the state SEEMS to be covered with rail.

Looking at Amtrak's website, no, not on a daily basis.

 

The #79 Carolinian/#90 Palmetto via Wilson runs daily, but with only one train, the schedules don't mesh:

Time: 7 hours 10 minutes Fare: $61

 

This is the most direct, fastest trip I came up with. If one could do this on a daily basis, their trip time would be 15 hours 24 minutes.
