TransitGuy Posted July 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2007 This is old news but I just wanted to know your opinions of the new redesigned rear for the D4500? I say yes and I would love to see these in NYC as soon as possible. One thing though in general, the MTA needs to create a new paint scheme, like having a blue base with white graphics (something other than a stripe). the white with a blue stripe is bland. NewJerseyT Posted July 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2007 That cool looking but a little weird looking at the same time. And I agree they do need a new paint scheme other than a blue stripe running around the bus.
Pablo M 201 Posted July 19, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2007 That rear is the hottest I've seen on a bus.
nycbusfan Posted July 19, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 19, 2007 Last week when I went to Philadelphia I took a Greyhound out of the PABT and I saw one with MCI logos while the bus I was on was leaving the terminal.
DHayward Posted July 19, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 19, 2007 I like the looks of the back, but It would be better if the breaks and directional lights were one unit, instead of three small lights.
Eastman346 Posted July 19, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2007 It looks alright. The lights look a little funny. How does the front and sides look, the same as before?
Harry Posted July 19, 2007 Share #7 Posted July 19, 2007 It looks okay not I'm too crazy about it.
TransitGuy Posted July 19, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted July 19, 2007 It looks alright. The lights look a little funny. How does the front and sides look, the same as before? It is suppose to look like this I think: Although I'm not too sure since this was a front design was there for a while (Company's had options to change it I think). Overall the redesign is great since its more functional and sleek.
Mr. Harlem Line Posted July 19, 2007 Share #9 Posted July 19, 2007 I don't really like the new design that much. I like the old grill design better.
Tracknut Posted July 19, 2007 Share #10 Posted July 19, 2007 I liked the older grill also.

Harry Posted August 27, 2007 Share #13 Posted August 27, 2007 I think its okay. Not the best design but at least something different. Does anyone know if NYCT will get these and if so when?
TransitGuy Posted August 27, 2007 Author Share #14 Posted August 27, 2007 I think its okay. Not the best design but at least something different. Does anyone know if NYCT will get these and if so when? They probably will get these soon especially since their older MCI's are getting older. Also, I hear once the new S.I depot (Charleston) opens, they will order about 50 buses to help with service so I believe we can see one of these soon, anything is possible. DOB2RTO Posted August 28, 2007 Share #15 Posted August 28, 2007 I love the new front, since it gives it the look of the J-4500. That new rear, YUCK. I liked the older look with the round side by side tail-lights. I wonder if the fans can still keep the engine cool, with the near elimination of vents. Those slits on the sides, I don't know. But then again it is MCI, and those D4500 were the best I have ever driven, overall. The Van-Hools and E4500s, did turn better though.
