There are still 2 10 car trains that still need burn in testing and it's unclear if those tests were done while the rest of the r179's were oos.

I’m not sure, but I’ve seen quite a few on the (A), (C), and (J) today. A couple R143s are currently on the (J) as well. I’m aboard 3020 as we speak.

bwwnyc123 Posted January 28, 2020 Share #8858 Posted January 28, 2020 You could tell MTA Subway Crews are getting beyond tired of using R32 and R42. And I don't blame them for that, because they were supposed to have been retired already.

I tried getting an R32 on the today, and saw basically the same thing. Both the and had a healthy amount of R179s. I might try again on Wednesday or Thursday during rush hour, as today I waited during the midday when the has kind of pathetic service (a 15 minute headway to each branch).

Emil Posted January 30, 2020 Share #8870 Posted January 30, 2020 I noticed on some mornings they use a mix of R32s or R179s on the and R46s and R179s on the (A). the 179s usually head uptown in the AM for both lines from what I've seen, except yesterday I noticed like 4-5 on the and 3 on the (A).

Jemorie Posted February 4, 2020 Share #8875 Posted February 4, 2020 To clear up the questions regarding the whereabouts of the R32s and R179s being used on the lines they're currently more-or-less assigned to (as I've seen on the previous pages), only 130 cars (13 ten-car trains) of R179s make up the remaining portion of the 's fleet. The vast majority of the 's fleet is still R46s. With the current gradual R32 phase-out, all you'll see is R46s and R179s on the . The is still half NTTs (before R160s and now R179s).
