Thanks they are used for work service and they are holding up great!!! Better than the R142A!!!! Btw those 142As on the (6) need an SMS badly they are in really bad shape...

nice job! haven't seen the corona yard in a long long time...

 

I will help that problem with some photos before & after the mets game next wednesday, and possibly some from tomorrow as well as i wanna look at ticket availability for a game on may 15th. Nice shots by the way!

Cool pics dude. Its funny whenever someone photographs IRT trains in a yard they look like toy trains in the pictures.

 

It's that funky sodium vapor lighting they use. Has a weird light spectrum in it, which makes the camera's CCD confused as not all sub-pixels are used to give it that "not quite what it seems" feel to it.

The orange lighting (sodium vapor) they use at night in most depots & yards does not emit a full spectrum of light like a household bulb does (or else it would be white), so things bathed in this light never look "real". Just like if the light were mostly blue, the oranges and yellows would pop out and the blue would look white, and the red . It's an optical illusion, but it also makes for interesting photography sometimes, other times its just annoying as in this case. Also, i think it's a matter of scale & distance combined with the lighting.
