IAlam Posted July 1, 2015 Share #202 Posted July 1, 2015 I'm just hoping that these trains have more leg room especially in the seats that are meant to have large groups of people

fjw718 Posted February 22, 2016 Share #205 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) The siding from the Hudson Line to Kawasaki Heavy Rail(Yonkers) which has sat unused for the better part of the last decade has been rebuilt. New ties and ballast, rebuilt switch and a trimming of all the overgrown trees and weeds. Looks like Kawasaki is expecting some deliveries soon from CSX. B46 via Utica Posted March 13, 2016 Share #208 Posted March 13, 2016 These are supposed to kill off the M-3s can't wait to see the front design of these trains hopefully better than the M-8s. Hopefully they want be overweight because of three electrical systems.

Hopefully they want be overweight because of three electrical systems. We've already seen the design. It's going to look like an M7 with the M8 destination boards in the front.

Q113 LTD Posted March 15, 2016 Share #215 Posted March 15, 2016 I think rail cars should be in different color base on the color of the line; like the M-2/M-8 on the New Haven Line.
Truckie Posted March 16, 2016 Share #216 Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) I think rail cars should be in different color base on the color of the line; like the M-2/M-8 on the New Haven Line. That would be impractical to say the least. M3's and M7's are used interchangeably between the Harlem and Hudson. If they were color coded you would continuously see green on the blue and blue and the green and a mixed bag on a single train. As it stands, both on Saturday and Sunday train 9642 goes from Southeast to GCT. At GCT that same consist goes to Harmon as train 8747. It's bad enough on the occasions a red train gets sent up the Hudson and Harlem with passengers and the questions that ensues. LTA1992 Posted March 18, 2016 Share #218 Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) I just noticed something about the shape of the car sides. It's different than what is currently on the M7 and M8. The curve below the belt line is smoothed out more. Edited March 18, 2016 by LTA1992
Amtrak41 Posted May 22, 2016 Share #219 Posted May 22, 2016 I think the contour is much like an M-8. End is more attractive too. I'd prefer orange over yellow.

See this is why I can't trust anybody here because they have no evidence.

There was a mock-up that came in from what I believe not the actual train
