trainfan22 2,234 Posted April 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 28, 2008 Does anybody know where eastchester depot is located? I know a lot of retired PBL buses are stored there and i wanted to get some pics. And does anybody know any other place where they store retired buses? And does spring creek still have all those OOS RTS buses from green bus lines and command stored there?
Cappy 1 Posted April 29, 2008 Share #2 Posted April 29, 2008 Does anybody know where eastchester depot is located? I know a lot of retired PBL buses are stored there and i wanted to get some pics. It's by Conner St & Tillotson Ave in the Bronx. The closest route that can reach that depot is the Bx30, which runs along Conner St for a short distance. Orion 27 Posted April 29, 2008 Share #3 Posted April 29, 2008 Pear Tree Avenue, as Cappy said, Bx30 will take you right in front of it, but that bus takes so long to come. I just take the W60-62, or the QBx1/Bx26/28 to Pear Tree Avenue, then walk up that block left of the plaza (in your view it's right of the plaza). '89 Liberty MCI 2 Posted April 29, 2008 Share #5 Posted April 29, 2008 In the Varsity lot close to Spring Creek depot, Command 351/354 are there (1984 RTSs), Jamaica 3001 is there (Fishbowl), and Green 1012 is there (RTS-03 with square back retrofit). The only good stuff in Eastchester (IMO) is the NYBS/Liberty Classics in the reserve lot, plus 1849 (1985 RTS-04, ex-NYCT before serving at Triboro) in the graveyard lot but that will probably be scrapped. Has scrap written on windshield.
'89 Liberty MCI 2 Posted April 29, 2008 Share #6 Posted April 29, 2008 It's by Conner St & Tillotson Ave in the Bronx. The closest route that can reach that depot is the Bx30, which runs along Conner St for a short distance. Also you could take the QBx1 and walk or the Bx16 and walk. Pablo M 201 35 Posted April 29, 2008 Share #7 Posted April 29, 2008 The easiest way I found it was taking the to 205th Street, and then the Bx30 to Eastchester. Then walked around and took a QBx1 to Queens to continue on some busfanning and get some food.
Orion 27 Posted April 30, 2008 Share #8 Posted April 30, 2008 Sure it's an easy way, but it will take forever! You can take the to Dyre Avenue, then walk to the Bx30, or just take the Bx16 then walk, or both the Bx16 to the Bx30 if you have an unlimited and don't want to get lost.
