Looks like the N is 100% R160

I have been noticing that the (N) looks like it is already 100% R160s. I could not spot any R40s, R68s or the rare R32 at all on the line. It looks like the line is alot faster now due to the new subway cars.

The 68s and 40S/Might come back to the (N) line due to the alstom onix populsion 160s are having problems and have to be pulled OOS. Same goes for the 160As on eastern it will be warrenty work.......

As of this week yes, it certainly looks like it is. Last week there was at least one R68 that I saw on the (N). Me and my girlfriend were on that R68 and she hatted it. She's gotten used to the R160's already.

You will never see another 32 on the sea beach. A superintendent put out an order for no more R32s to run on the sea beach.

GearBox incidents.

Yeah, the (N) isn't quite full R160s yet. There are quite a few R68/As on the line. However, the second the problems are fixed, the R68/A will be gone. I've also gotten quite attached to the R160s as well.

It has nothing to do with leaking oil on the siemens sets that a another problem. This problem is on the alstom onix 160s thats why there have been not as many sets in service lately. The warrenty will fix the problem and they will back in service once the problem is fixed.

So this entire week has gone by and not one R68 was spotted by me on the (N). I'm only on the subway during morning/evening rush anyway. Usually I see one or two during the weekly rushes. Let's see how today's evening rush plays out.

That's so weird. All I've seen this week are Alstom R160s (with one exception for a Siemens on Monday). I must've been unlucky.

The R40s you might just be right about it. Good thing I rode an R40 on the (N) back in February for the last time.

I wouldnt say so for the R40s. Sometimes when the line is short of R160s due to some sort of problem or whatnot, the R40s are Fill-Ins. Its happened 5 times this year so far after the arrivals of the higher numbered Siemens cars.

The R40s you might just be right about it. Good thing I rode an R40 on the (N) back in February for the last time.

 

Took the (N) from midtown to coney island on a R40 last summer. I had an enjoyable ride, and a good meal from nathan's. Interesting the (N) uses the same color as the Nathan's logo. (N)(A)(T)(H)(A)(N)'(S) !!!!!

I still remember the first time I rode an R40 slant on the (N)ovember. I was a kid, no more than 7 or 8, and I'd gotten a "day off" from school (thanks, dad). We went down to Coney Island via West End (B)ravo (yes, this was before the switch), I saw the Side Show, played some of the games, and of course ate at NATHAN'S, then on the way back I saw the R40 slant sitting in the terminal marked as NOT the "next to leave" (this was before the station renovation obviously), but I got my dad to wait, and we rode it back. I remember I looked out the RFW the whole time, but for some reason it never seemed the train moved faster than series speed aside for a couple of stretches. A long ride, and one of those ones you'd prefer last for a while. Ridden R40 slants on the line since, but that was the first one. Second to last time I rode an R40 slant on Broadway it was a (W)hisky and the T/O did a good thing because a mom and a little kid got separated on the subway and he got the kid back to the Mom who was held at 57th Tower to wait.

The Siemens problem with the gear boxes are done...

 

The Alstom warrenty jobs is getting worked on thats why the Siemens trains are getting pushed out there now..

 

Two R68's sets on the (N)ovember last week...

 

BTW 8937-36-35-34-8933+8938-39-40-41-8942 in service on he (N)ovember As of Friday..

Great chance that the (B)s will be getting the R160s. They've already been testing on that route a few times before. I rode Siemens set 8888...dunno if that's a new set, but whatever.

8888's been around for a while now. And they test the R160 around different lines just to see the possibility of urnning it on that line or whatever, I guess. Doesn't necessarily mean the line will get them though.

Not to mention for reroutes and possible GO's. Especially since after the (W)hisky gets R160's the (Q)uincy would figure to be next.
