There was once a pond where the neighborhood is located.

Fresh Pond isn't really a neighborhood. It's named for the Fresh Pond Rd Station on the (M) line

Joel is actually right. The whole Middle Village-Glendale-Northern Ridgewood area used to be one huge marshland. Fresh Pond Rd (and the depot) got its name cuz the area around the depot and the train yard was a pond

Someone else can go

pardon my ignorance, but, how do you figure out the destinations from a 4 digit code?!

The first digit is the borough, the inner 2 digits are the route and the last digit is the direction

Ex: 3120. 3 is the borough. 12 is the route. 0 is the direction.

1, 2-Manhattan

3-Bronx

4-Brooklyn

5-Queens

6-Staten Island

7-Express

8-for routes with multiple destinations

9-Subway shuttles

Even numbers are for north/east destinations. Odd numbers are for south/west destinations

Wirelessly posted via (BlackBerry8520/5.0.0.900 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Nope. Its actually to Cadman Plaza. That code is only used on the school trippers from Boys & Girls High School

Oh man. I got another one:

What route do I get if I put in 5041?

Ok I got another question...

Out of the many RTS we got, there was 10 of them that was different. What was so special about them?

And some bonus questions...

What was the numbers of those buses?

Where were they all located at?

Are they still in service or not?
