So an ex-con should NEVER have a job again? That's why there's rescidivism.

Of course. Any company that competes with your company is a "shyt" company.

Megabus is a cheap AND safe company. There was an incident in which the bus hit the low overpass, an incident in which the bus crashed during a winter storm, and maybe one or two other incidents. However, the other 99% of the time the buses operated safely and on time.

New Jersey Transit isn't competing with anyone. However they do loose out alot on the 319 but njt basically gave that run to greyhound. If we wanted to we could take greyhound out of that faster then you blink. Thats why the 319 only runs 2hrs. Now in the summer greyhound loose alot because we get all the wildwood cape may ppl that want to stop at the casino and then continue to wildwood cape may. Also Academy does AC runs with njt owned buses.

Those cheap companies are shyt companies. They dont do heavy backround checks. If you walk into a cusa office your mind will change. Those driver get paid sun flower seeds to lug 81 ppl around and you think there going to be serious about it?

Please don't mention CUSA. I despise that company (Not the drivers, the management). Give me a BS excuse that they can't hire me because I don't have a car yet I PERSONALLY know people that did the 351 and 353 trips with me when I was at Meadowlands and had to take a bus, the 163, back to NY to get home, yet I was in North Bergen and they couldn't hire me though I was closer? Gimme a dayum break, man!

@ Forest Glen. I think everyone who has paid his debt to society deserves a second chance. I would hope most people agree with that premise. That being said, what type of second chance ? How much responsibilty do we entrust that person with? Do we give Darius McCollum a chance to drive a bus, subway, or railroad train? Do we allow a convicted felon to take up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave ? It wasn't that long ago that a convicted New York State felon couldn't get a driver's license, hack license, or even a barber's license. He/she couldn't even vote. The majority out here are probably wondering WTF this guy was doing driving a bus with his priors. With the negative comments I've been reading in the tabloids I think he may have screwed it up for anyone else in his position. I'm not on the NTSB or with the PD so I make no judgement on the accident itself, that's not my place but I do see a backlash coming against the low cost charter companies and probably their drivers, too.

I just read on NYT.com that ten drivers were pulled from their coaches today in New York State at various locations because of license violations. The state police have set up roadblocks around the state.

Sadly, my friend, no I don't. Yours truly now lives in PA working for a school bus company. I resigned a while ago. Lets just say I got tired of my mom getting jacked in her new house, so I resigned and I take care of her. When I know she can do it on her own and I know she's safe, I can go back since I left under good terms.
