EE Broadway Local Posted March 18, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 18, 2011 The operator is A & C Transit which operates Montgomery And West Side and four other routes including the new Bergen Avenue route. The route is 53d Street and Broadway in Bayonne to Journal Square via Garfield Avenue, Old Bergen Road and Bergen Avenue. For now, Bergen Avenue is on a modified schedule: 6:30 am to 10:00 pm every half hour with two buses. Fare is 1.50 and both the Bus Card and School Card - Bergen serves Snyder High- are honored. A & C has 23 buses and plans to improve Bergen Avenue service to four, or six buses and restore service to midnight. Welcome back Bergen Avenue and Welcome A & C Transit! EE Broadway Local Posted March 18, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 18, 2011 I think A & C will do well. Montgomery And West Side is a good service - for years they have worked with NJ Transit between Montgomery and Bergen and Danforth and West Side, first the 9 and now the 80. I have faith. SirJokaPlaya Posted March 18, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 18, 2011 And at least the drivers back at Bergen Ave IBOA aren't out of work neither. They have a job, but they gonna have to follow A & C's rules. And service will greatly improved, so in a way, it's a Win-Win situation. Let's HOPE they make a public timetable for the Bergen Ave route so people can now know when the bus will arrive at the selected locations. EE Broadway Local Posted March 18, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted March 18, 2011 You Know. Back when Bergen Avenue was good, at its' peak, it had eight or nine buses in service. The GMC Old Looks looked good in Bergen's White and Orange "State Color" scheme and they had the Fishbowls in Orange.
