Tim Pawlenty for president? Former Minnesota Gov. forming presidential exploratory committee

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty hopes to provide voters with the answer to that question when he announced on Facebook Monday that he's forming a presidential exploratory committee.

Yet another conservative Republican, Pawlenty is trying to climb out from behind the shadow of better known GOP pols like Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney who also have their eyes on the White House.

Pawlenty, who was aced out of being Sen. John McCain's vice presidential pick by Palin, has been been trying to drum up support since 2009.

That's when Pawlenty announced he would not be seeking a third term as governor of his Democratic-leaning state.

It wasn't immediately clear why Pawlenty chose to make his Facebook foray on a day when most Americans were focused on the Libyan civil war, the coup in Yemen, the nuclear crisis in Japan, and the federal budget battle in Washington.

There are at least a dozen Republicans considering a run against President Obama in 2012."

It's still very early and it's best to wait until next January to see who offically is in the GOP field. With that said, I think Pawlenty chances to win the nomination is not great at best. However he could be a strong VP canadiate, if he has a good showing in the primaries especially if the front runner comes from a sunbelt state.

At this rate who isn't running for President these days?

Donald Trump, Mayor Bloomberg, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin... The way it is going w/Obama in the White House these days it may be fair to say that we've got another Governor Paterson on our hands, minus the adultery of course (up to now). ;)

To quote Bill Clinton... [Arkansas accent]: I did NOT have sexual relations with that woman. LOL
