Q113 LTD Posted March 12, 2015 Share #9077 Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) Some are terminating at Euclid Av due to rail condition at Grant Av. Everything is fine now, just delays. Edited March 12, 2015 by Q113 LTD
MTA Dude Posted March 12, 2015 Share #9078 Posted March 12, 2015 The tight rush hour intervals between trains and the layout of the tracks in and around Jamaica Center are why some trains come out of 179 Street. Replying to an old comment but who cares? Yeah, I know that. What I want to know is how they are scheduled.
MysteriousBtrain Posted March 12, 2015 Share #9079 Posted March 12, 2015 Replying to an old comment but who cares? Yeah, I know that. What I want to know is how they are scheduled. Lance already explained it. The is a busy route. So busy, some trips have to go to 179 Street rush hours.

CenSin Posted March 12, 2015 Share #9081 Posted March 12, 2015 It would appear that the signals at Prince Street have been fixed. Last year, from the uptown platform, I observed an train pulling into Prince Street with a stalling barely into the station on the express track. It stayed there even after the pulled out. And then an pulled in, made a full stop before the finally started moving. I haven't seen anything ridiculous like that recently. In fact, the trains have been pulling into Prince Street slowly whether the was present or not (which makes sense, because the presence of the on the express track should have no bearing on what goes on on the local track).

CenSin Posted March 13, 2015 Share #9088 Posted March 13, 2015 I can understand before 34th becuase maybe a it waiting to cross to the local. But between canal and 14th absolutely not. It was a peculiar issue with trains going southbound on Broadway. I think it may still be sometimes. trains are slowing down an awful lot for the possibility that an train may be on the local track. Ditto for the . The switch is not that close to the station itself compared to 36 Street where the switch blades are like right under the train when it's platformed.
RollOver Posted March 13, 2015 Share #9089 Posted March 13, 2015 The is always less crowded. The only time it gets truly crowded is during rush hours (between Metropolitan and Marcy in the morning when those Middle Village, Ridgewood, Bushwick, and Williamsburg residents are on their way to Midtown Manhattan, and reverse in the evening).
CenSin Posted March 14, 2015 Share #9090 Posted March 14, 2015 It would appear that railroad turnouts can be bought online to be shipped from China. I wonder what delivery service they use.

Javier Posted March 16, 2015 Share #9094 Posted March 16, 2015 Um, why is there a program for a via the to Far Rockaway on the R160?
CenSin Posted March 16, 2015 Share #9095 Posted March 16, 2015 Um, why is there a program for a via the to Far Rockaway on the R160? It's probably for the 6 Avenue (orange) since Broadway has no access to the Fulton Street line. And it's probably for the same reason the has this program too whatever that could be.
paulrivera Posted March 16, 2015 Share #9096 Posted March 16, 2015 Yet there isn't a program for the to 168th Street, which actually has happened as opposed to a train on Fulton Street, let alone Far Rockaway.

MTA Dude Posted March 17, 2015 Share #9100 Posted March 17, 2015 Expect R160B 9399 to be as smelly as hell. If not, Jamaica did a real nice job cleaning it last night. Some crazy homeless bum screamed out random words and hid in the corner. A real bitch, I tell ya.
