BM5 via Woodhaven Posted June 22, 2016 Share #12803 Posted June 22, 2016 What's this about platform controllers. I saw one at Roosevelt Avenue in a blue vest, saying "Platform controller" in the back.
Lance Posted June 22, 2016 Share #12804 Posted June 22, 2016 They've been around for a while. I've seen them on the platforms at 51 Street and Lexington Av-53 St. They just got new vests if I'm not mistaken.

Around the Horn Posted June 22, 2016 Share #12806 Posted June 22, 2016 Mixed consist on the today. That's 5152 and 2784. Think the last time I rode a mixed set would have been R32/38s together, pretty cool to be on. No braking issues. I guess that's what you'll get when you split a train on Friday, run it on the for a weekend and then combine two random trains on Monday and run that as a again...
MysteriousBtrain Posted June 22, 2016 Share #12807 Posted June 22, 2016 (edited) I guess that's what you'll get when you split a train on Friday, run it on the for a weekend and then combine two random trains on Monday and run that as a again...I feel the should be just 100% R68As, that way those R68s can breathe and the R68As aren't sitting around in coney island/concourse waiting for a Yankees event to occur.Even though they basically are the same car, these mix R6x sets feel odd. Think I saw a R62/62A mix on the once. Edited June 22, 2016 by ShadeJay
B46 via Utica Posted June 22, 2016 Share #12808 Posted June 22, 2016 I've been trying to catch that mixed R68/68A set. Is it still running?
MHV9218 Posted June 22, 2016 Share #12809 Posted June 22, 2016 I've been trying to catch that mixed R68/68A set. Is it still running? I took that photo yesterday. Probably.
MHV9218 Posted June 23, 2016 Share #12810 Posted June 23, 2016 Double-posting... Had a great T/O on the R32 today, really great heaving that set with somebody who can run it well. Speeds over the past week or so never really seem to get too much above 40 (Cranberry 42mph S/B, Euclid-Bway 40mph N/B), and those timers around Utica make the express a joke. I don't think I'd even had an RFW going into Utica since that timer was installed...I'm used to the old speed from Nostrand S/B, that warranted the reminder sign at Nostrand saying "PLEASE BRAKE" in nicer terms. Shame how slow it is there. Just pray that the 42nd S/B runs never get ruined on the A/C.
Jcb Posted June 24, 2016 Share #12811 Posted June 24, 2016 Just pray that the 42nd S/B runs never get ruined on the A/C. At least we still have the entrance to Nostrand itself, eh?
RestrictOnTheHanger Posted June 24, 2016 Share #12812 Posted June 24, 2016 Were there ever switches between tracks in the 11th st Cut between the junction with the and Queens Plaza? Just went thru there on thd and saw several homeballs and what looked like a tiled up wall by one of them. Just curious.

Calvin Posted June 25, 2016 Share #12819 Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) I wonder how majority the R142s and R142As have their maps updated (the 2/5 and 4) but the 6 doesn't replace their strip maps. Tbh, I thought the update will look like the R62A Lexington Av map *The green on the 6 isn't replaced like the 4 and 5 Edited June 25, 2016 by CH3348
Calvin Posted June 25, 2016 Share #12820 Posted June 25, 2016 I also noticed on the to Dyre Av, after saying the next stop, it isn't announced. It then leads to the closing doors part.

All of the IRT NTTs with the exception of the do that now. None of them announce what the destination is anymore. trainfan22 Posted June 25, 2016 Share #12823 Posted June 25, 2016 Shocked they are having that line G.O where its cut back to Brooklyn Bridge and scrapping the wall in Manhattan on a weekend the Yankees are playing at home.

MysteriousBtrain Posted June 26, 2016 Share #12825 Posted June 26, 2016 (edited) There's another strip map addition on the . This time it's the R62A with an addition of an SBS route. And nope, its not the Q44: Don't worry, it's only on the maps in 1711. Edited June 26, 2016 by ShadeJay
