CTK246 Posted September 11, 2016 Share #13508 Posted September 11, 2016 Is the 100% R160 on the weekends? That's like the only time I ever see them and when I do, there are no R46s to be found.

Around the Horn Posted September 11, 2016 Share #13510 Posted September 11, 2016 R46s are always on the on weekends. Yeah its just a question of how many. There's been an uptick in R160s on the weekends since I want to say last December for whatever reason.

It's shuffled, on weekdays, there's very few but on weekends, there isn't that many trains running so what's left is used on the There was a R68A in service on the today... surprised to see it running on Saturday, another 68A set was laid up at Astoria Blvd, so the has at least two sets of SMEE cars. the uses a R68A 1 or 2 everyday now
Daniel The Cool Posted September 11, 2016 Share #13512 Posted September 11, 2016 They put an R68 on the at times, mostly happens in the AM rush. Not always. PATCOman Posted September 11, 2016 Share #13513 Posted September 11, 2016 Seems like there are more 160s on the R when it goes to 179 Street.
Lance Posted September 11, 2016 Share #13514 Posted September 11, 2016 I wonder if that's because of line swapping. In to 179 Street as an and out as an and vice-versa.
TheNewYorkElevated Posted September 11, 2016 Share #13515 Posted September 11, 2016 15th anniversary of 9/11 today. Hard to believe the subway was so different back then (R142/142A were new, Redbirds were retiring, Manhattan Bridge rehab project). Also hard to believe it changed railfanning forever.

Mysterious2train Posted September 11, 2016 Share #13518 Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) Anybody know anything about the status of ADA renovations/elevator installations at 23 St and Lefferts Blvd ? Both projects were scheduled to be finished last month, but I haven't heard any news about the elevators at either station going into service (like an MTA press release), so I'm assuming they're delayed like usual. MassTransitHonchkrow Posted September 13, 2016 Share #13525 Posted September 13, 2016 What the hell does R68 s have to do with R46 s?Because trains are usually run as R160 cars, and it was unusual to see an R68 car as an . I know they are different builds, but dimension wise they have a lot in common. I often confuse the two. The comment I quoted is in tandem with my response. #TangentAlert #SupportingDetails And based on signage and past comments, the R46 cars were refurbished with technology that brings their flair into the late 70s to early 80s, about the same age as the R68 cars. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ???? Yes there was, I rode the subway the past weekend and personally SAW MULTIPLE R46s on the .I'm not saying there wasn't. In September 11th, 7 out of 10 trains I glanced were R160 cars. You're probably right. Everyone's vantage point seems to veer off but of course I believe you. Not like I can make shadow clones of myself to verify everyone's claims. I have to have faith and trust that we all have different yet legit scenarios. If I want to proofread others I'll join a newspaper column. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ????
