Iron Valiant Posted December 16, 2019 Share #22777 Posted December 16, 2019 I was on a full refurbished R160 on the ... well 99.9% refurbished. Car #9245 is missing the blue wrap on the right side. The other side has it and there is wallpaper and screens installed on-board. Does anyone know if the R160s are still receiving the newer scheme? I’ve been seeing a lot more on the lately; Did those come from the // lines?

With all the R179's problems, and the R211's due next year, we're still technically on a shortage. They're trying to hold onto to the 32's and 42's as long as possible.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, looks like they're gonna kill off some bad R32's and all the R42's which makes sense with the R32's.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, cause we've been on a shortage for the better part of a decade and a half, cause of the scrap happy days. Those 42s and 32s would've been gone in 2009, if it wasn't for those 44s going, and for us being short.

From what I heard, nothing will actually be scrapped until the R211s begin to replace cars. Until then, they will mothball the 42s and some 32s (think of the having what, 10 sets of R179s now, they probably can sideline a few 10-car trains indefinitely)

No rush to scrap them anyways so why not hold off until we find an issue with the 179’s.

ENY has alot of extra cars so they can push out a few sets of R179's.

There’s no need to move them.

RedLine Posted December 18, 2019 Share #22800 Posted December 18, 2019 So losing 48-50 R42s won't hurt them.
