Cait Sith Posted December 3, 2013 Share #10101 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) 3960 is on the Bx2 isnt it an artic route? 40fters often show up on artic routes. So this morning at Hylan and Narrows Road South... two ladies were speaking and she said to the lady "since my job relocated I'm now taking the 2X instead of the 1X." Why must she say it like that instead of X1 and X2? That's how its referred to in its old school saying. All the drivers and dispatchers refer the lines to them as such. Yes, it's an artic route but you do get the occasional NG/O5 on the Bx2 and other artic KB routes... 40fters often show up on artic routes. This! Orion VII 4 Life Posted December 3, 2013 Share #10103 Posted December 3, 2013 MNRR shuttle today (like last time) had buses from EVERYWHERE, including local buses from SI, 3G Orions from Castleton and hybrids from Yukon and Charleston. Massive operation.

JennM7Lover Posted December 3, 2013 Share #10106 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) I must ask all of you..Well, as you may or may not know, as of September 8th, not only did this here happened, but weekend service on the B69 was restored, after practically 3 and 3/4 years. I, as a railfanner/busfanner enthusiast, of gender, must ask what do all of you think? I say its a smart decision for the to restore weekend service on the B69, but what do you think of the B67 extension? MHV9218 Posted December 3, 2013 Share #10107 Posted December 3, 2013 Emergency shuttles are emergency shuttles. No time to bicker on equipment used. Although 126 was pretty funny about it, they only sent out 1998-1999 D60s for their piece on the shuttle.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted December 3, 2013 Share #10108 Posted December 3, 2013 Yes, it's an artic route but you do get the occasional NG/O5 on the Bx2 and other artic KB routes... I've noticed that as well when waiting for the BxM4. Why is that? Not enough artics or what?

I heard that some ops at KB don't want to use the artics... So they take out the NG/O5 instead... Not sure how true that is though... Culver Posted December 4, 2013 Share #10115 Posted December 4, 2013 Random Thought: Yeah, the new C40LF definitely my preferred bus model. Smoothest ride (suspension and transmission) of the locals, decent engine note, and the colors look good on them.

Turbo19 Posted December 4, 2013 Share #10117 Posted December 4, 2013 At this point I've reached the assumption that for various reasons the Orion Vii's (NG & 3G) will be swapped around interchangeably in the years to follow.

Cait Sith Posted December 4, 2013 Share #10119 Posted December 4, 2013 Is it like that at all depots that have artics? Manhattan, nope. Bronx and Queens, it happens. It happens more in The Bronx. I would assume its based on the interlined runs and whatnot.
NYCtrainfan01 Posted December 4, 2013 Share #10120 Posted December 4, 2013 Is it like that at all depots that have artics? Maybe... If what I heard is true, then it can be possible with the other depots too...

wuzLIB2012 Posted December 4, 2013 Share #10124 Posted December 4, 2013 took the MTA NYC test this January. Passed test could be called next year of 2014? When you get appointed, can anyone explain what is the process after that? I know there is Training on the bus, but are they telling you or are they giving you options on what garage you will be in ? Or will the process include being a floater from depot to depot till your able to pick what garage you will be in? I would think that the training you do will have to be in the one depot they send you to ........................I live in Suffolk
